Wish I could find more places like this - I can't say that enough. Great and fresh food with great service - real service. I ordered the steak & cheese with onions. Steak was definitely fresh and delicious. The bread from the sub roll was light & airy with a subtle toast. The sandwich seemed to have it's own type of sub sauce they use - that sauce added a nice base to the sandwich and kept the bread from getting soggy.
I stopped in here on a rainy afternoon but you couldn't tell that from talking with the crew. Watching the crew interact you can see they get along and respect each other.
If you've ever seen 'The Bear' and wondered what it's like to eat at 'The Beef' (sandwich shop in the show), I imagine this is what it's like. Really cool to see a local restaurant doing their thing and doing it well!

This place is soooo good! My husband is from Philly, and it’s been nearly impossible to find a cheesesteak that lives up to his standards—until now. They shave their meat to order and cook it perfectly every time. 10/10 highly recommend! We can’t wait to come back and try more of the menu.

Hands down one of the best delis around! The subs are stacked with fresh meats, crisp veggies, and soft bread that tastes baked the same day. You can tell they actually care about quality everything’s sliced to order and the portions are legit. The staff is super friendly and always remembers my order, which makes it feel like a local favorite instead of a chain. Whether it’s a quick lunch or you’re grabbing something for the road, this place absolutely hits the spot every time. Highly recommend grabbing an Italian or turkey club you won’t be disappointed!

John Smith’s Sub Shop in Destin is absolutely amazing! The service is top-notch — as soon as we got there, they dropped the fries fresh to order, and you could really taste the difference. Perfectly hot, crispy, and delicious! The bread on the subs is unbelievably soft and fresh, and everything we tried was full of flavor. You can tell they take pride in the quality of their food and their customer service. Easily one of the best spots in Destin — we’ll definitely be back!

Enjoyed lunch with my family at Jon Smith Subs today. You’ll have a hard time finding a restaurant run like this one. The dining room, kitchen and bathroom were spotless. The staff were friendly and courteous, and the food was hot, fresh and delicious! The owner checked on us during our visit to ensure that we were enjoying our meals. I highly recommend you treat yourself or your family to a meal here. We are definitely looking forward to our next visit!

Minimal cheese on cheesesteak. Meat was in chunks instead of thin-sliced. Half of the roll was soggy. Won't return.

Chunks of dry meat are not appetizing. I had to throw half of it in the garbage as it was very salty as well. Sorry you don't like an honest review.

Best sandwiches around! We'll be back. There were 4 of us and we all had the Cuban Reuben. Served hot and toasty, delicious!

The Food was really, good. My chicken sandwich was like chicken nuggets and tasted really nice, and the fries were amazing. The place looks great and cool in there. However it’s just one thing, they did forget to add pickles in my sandwich. The restaurant was a great place to eat.
