I hate writing reviews but on this day I had to. We had Thanksgiving dinner at Ovide and we were so not impressed. First, we walk in and the buffet was in a hall way. Second, when we got our food the buffet was self help except for the meat. Well, most of the sides were so thick and over cooked where you couldn't even put it on your plate. The prime rib was so bloody and you couldn't even cut it becaue it was tough the turkey was so dry. We were so excited that we would be eating out but it was a disaster. The service was great but the food was horrible. We will NOT go back there. My boyfriend had shellfish with his meal and on the way home he got sick. He was sick for the rest of the night. For $95 a plate you think it would be fantastic but it was far beyond that. We were hoping to be Thankful on this day for the food but we weren't. I felt so horrible be we spent around $350 and that was money we didn't have to spend.

First time we dined at Ovide it was lovely, food, service and choices, our favorite dinner out of our visit. We were so excited to return. This time we were disappointed. Hoping it was a one time occurrence and train will be back on track for our next visit.
Food was excellent. Service was lacking and un-attentive. Waited for entree orders to be placed. Waited excessively for payment to be taken after check presented - all while 2 servers assigned to the table.
Celebrated wedding anniversary. Food and service was great.

Ashley, Josh and Sarah are the best people
You could get to know. Keisha is horrible. She treats everyone we watch poorly while on the waitlist. She treats people terribly it was painful to watch. The bartenders and waitstaff have to over compensate to make up for how the guest are greeted! Thank you Ashley you are the absolute best!

Let me first state that I love the staff at Ovide’s. They are sincere and lovely. Unfortunately they are forced to work with an inconsistent kitchen staff lacking a chef, absent any management other than one gentleman that has to help run plates to tables. There is apparently no kitchen line management as I have been told so the same menu items change in presentation daily. The restaurant is rout with inconsistency and lacks any attention to detail and quality most of the time. Again this is not the fault of the service staff. To be a Marriott Autograph hotel, this restaurant can only be described one way: a bad joke. Unfortunately the joke was on me and I have stayed here many times, hold a Marriott gold status, and have watched a great hotel take a turn for the worse on many levels. The restaurant is just one example. The overall customer experience at the hotel is quite poor indeed. I have several examples but will save them for management. Sad but undoubtedly true AND at a premium price point. The added resort fee is simply unjustified as there is a lack of any added value beyond a normal hotel offering. I’m sure this will be contested by the property owner. All that I can say is try at your own risk and judge for yourself.
Overall I am embarrassed for the waitstaff and some of the others but not all customer facing employees, especially those at the front desk. Again, an inconsistent customer experience is certainly present at Hotel Effie let alone this once great restaurant.
I will not return regrettably and I would defiantly not recommend this property or its restaurants to any friends or family.

What a nice restaurant to have such poor management. Walked up for diner and the hostess tells me that they are book up for diner, so I asked if I could sit at the bar which she reluctantly said yes. I sit down and notice the restaurant is less than half seated. I order a drink, appetizer, entree, and finished my meal. The restaurant was still half empty. I walk up this morning to have brunch, and it’s the same thing again, except I was denied seating at the bar which was half empty. This place is being managed very poorly. It is in the heart of one of the premier destinations in Destin and they can’t do any better than this.

We were a part of seven, and while the service was fine, the food was marginal. The most expensive nail while here, but definitely not in the best. It is a cool place with a good vibe and probably worth trying out, but no one was thrilled with, their selection.
Pro: Our waiter was great. Con: Everything else. Upon arrival for our 6:15 reservation there was no one to check us in. With a sign posted by the hostess saying “wait to be seated” there wasn't a hostess on shift. After attempting to alert the bar tender to our need for a someone to attend us we were nodded off and mumbled at. It sounded as if he said “someone will come.” At 6:25 a woman appeared, walked us in, and told us to pick any seat followed by making sure we knew she was the manager. We ordered the deviled eggs, pork chop and bucatini. Each dish was lacking including the bread service which was clearly not fresh. We made no complaint, paid out bill and left. It was a disappointment and we will not return.
Very average. We saw some of the great reviews for this restaurant. Overall we were underwhelmed. Ambiance and Service was very nice. Food ended up being very average and what you would expect from a hotel restaurant. $220 for two persons including a fair amount of wine. And you have to take a shuttle to get there. No thanks.

Early dinner with a party of nine including an infant and two children. Reservation made and honored through Open Table. Beautiful hotel and restaurant. Very attentive staff from the doorman to the wait staff. Somewhat limited menu but all entrees were excellent including the fish, pasta and kid's menu items. Make sure you stop by the rooftop pool/bar for nice view.
Great first dinner of our vacation in Florida. Server recommended the filet and it did not disappoint. Charcuterie board was good value. Heirloom tomato And burrata salad was amazing. We will be back!

Was hoping to enjoy the restaurant but was turned away for dress code reasons. There is t a dress code posted and our violation was my wife wearing a sleeveless nicer top. If a restaurant desires a certain dress it should be posted.

The entire experience was wonderful. We were staying in the Hotel Effie but, we would go back when we are in the area, regardless of where we are staying. The food was delicious, from the cocktails to the carpaccio and deviled eggs, then on to the shrimp & grits to dessert! Our server was attentive without being annoying - a difficult balance for some servers! It was my husband's birthday and the evening turned dinner into a celebration. Pricing was good too, especially for a hotel restaurant in a resort! Thank you, Ovide!
