SunQuest Cruises SOLARIS Yacht | Destin Florida Wedding Venue

We booked a dinner cruise w Sunquest for my wife's 50th birthday while we were on vacation in Sandestin. We should have known this was a shitbird company when I booked them on Open Table yet they required another call to book them with a human being. I gave them my cc info and food choices. They never ran my card and apparently never recorded my food options because they reached out again a few days before the scheduled cruise to ask for all my info and choices again. The day before and the day of we receive confirmation emails and texts. Then, 3 hrs before the cruise was supposed to board, we received a text that the cruise for the next day was canceled and that we could rebook the following Tue or Thu after we had gone home. Meanwhile, I was checking my CC app and they had still never run my card. Anyway, I wanted to clarify whether they meant to cancel tonight or the next night. No one answered any of my 6 calls, email or text. Finally an hour later, after we took an Uber over to Baytown village did they send a clarification text confirming that in fact tonight's cruise was canceled. By that time it's 5:00 and we are without any plans/reservations for the evening. This company is poorly run and the service level is abysmal. It's too bad they seem like the only dinner cruise in the area because I'd rather get Wendy's and sit in a dinghy than Reebok with these morons. Service: 1/5

We had a blast. Met a lot of wonderful people. Music and food were great. Hubby had the creole chicken and I had the braised boneless short rib both very good and tender. Enjoyed exploring all areas of the boat. We were surprised that two weddings were there but it did not affect our cruise. Beautiful sunset scenery. We all had a great time. Wonderful venue, one of a kind. Where else can you dine on amazing food, dance and drink, all while cruising the Chotow Bay? Very friendly staff from management to servers and the Captain.

Went on a dinner cruise. It was a nice and relaxing experience. The food and drinks were great and so was the staff.

The food was delicious, staff very nice, great music and atmosphere, and awesome sunset views!

However, I had a very serious problem with the bill. The meal was $88 apiece. I didn’t think that was unreasonable, given the nice boat ride. That includes dessert but not appetizers or drinks.

When we got our final bill, the server explained the charges. In addition to our food and drinks, they charge about a 20% commission ($53.80 for a bill of $200.40). The server explained they don’t get paid an hourly wage. The commission on all of the bills is divided evenly between the servers. Anything you want to tip is In addition to the 20% commission, but that “you don’t have to tip.”

This is wrong. When you buy a car, a watch at the jewelry store, make-up at the mall, or anything else where the salesman gets a commission, the COMPANY for whom the salesman works pays the salesman his commission, NOT THE CUSTOMER!!

I wasn’t willing to pay both the server’s salary AND a 20% tip on top of that. Since they charged the 20% commission, I was inclined not to tip. But my friend didn’t like her entre and didn’t eat any more after the first bite. For that reason, they comped us for half her entre, her appetizer, and a drink, which totaled $75.

I believe in tipping for what we were served, not discounting the tip according to the value of what we were comped. And the commission didn’t include the amount for what we were comped. So I tipped 20% of the amount taken off our bill, $15.

Something else on this bill I had never seen before was service charge for using a credit card, $6.24.

After the comps, our total bill, including the commission and service charge, was $271.88, for two people. Without the comps plus the commission on that entire amount, it would have been very close to 361.88.

I think people should be told in advance about this questionable commission charge. For me personally, it would make the difference of whether or not I patronize that establishment or not.

Everything was great but the live music killed the whole atmosphere. The song choices were okay but the quality was absolutely horrible. Lovely couple singing but not good at all…

We had a wonderful experience for our wedding. Our ceremony was on the beach, and the reception aboard the yacht. All of our guests enjoyed themselves. Kristi, Courtney, and Josh were all wonderful to work with. I sent inspiration photos I had for my wedding, and I can’t even explain how well they took what I wanted and made it happen. My bouquet and the rest of the flowers were absolutely beautiful. Josh went above and beyond for me and I am forever grateful to him. I honestly can’t tell you enough how satisfied my husband and I were with how everything turned out.The food was amazing and the guests raved about it. Everyone wanted to stay on the yacht longer. I don’t know what else I can say except we were very satisfied and happy that we used Solaris as our wedding venue!

They have the most friendly staff ever. The boat is super clean and they are very accommodating. I like you can walk the boat all you want and they tell you when each dinner course is ready. What I wasn’t real happy with was the portion of food for the price. The lighting was too dark and it was so loud it was hard to talk to my husband. The speakers on the boat are drown out and we were on the second floor and could not hear the lady speak. The best place to hear is the top of the boat. I hope this is fixed soon because my son wants to take his girlfriend on the boat and I want them to have a nice experience because it has potential. At least they are the sweetest people that make’s me feel bad for even leaving less than a 5 star. Not their fault they are just doing their job, they don’t own the boat.

Hopeful that this would be a great way to end our Girls Trip! We paid a lot of money for a nice ambience. Instead, we sat next to a group of about 20 people celebrating a birthday event.

We brought up their loud obnoxious behavior to a manager who did nothing. Because we complained the group got even louder and threw a hair clip across our table then laughed about it.

Manager still did nothing and for this we will never come back nor recommend this place to any friends or family!

The waiter was not very attentive either! The service was not the best and we still had to pay 20% mandatory tip… Ridiculous.

The view was beautiful as well as food but the cruise itself was very loud and service was slow, took a long time to receive each meal course and even longer to receive a drink from the bar. We sat next to a large obnoxious group and spoke to the manager who did nothing, it was pricey for what we got, won’t ever go through them again

My wife and I have an amazing dinner cruise.

We were not able to experience the cruise part because the waves were too rough. However, we very much enjoyed our meal, the music, and the sunset. The service we received was second to none! Thank you for making our anniversary very memorable!

My husband and I had a wonderful experience with sun quest cruises for our wedding ceremony and reception. They completely blew us away with their attention to detail, florals, food, and music. Everything was absolutely perfect for us and there wasn’t anything I would change about our wedding day! I would recommend them to anyone! Thank you to Courtney, Emma, and Josh for an amazing planning experience. And to Gwen and her partner for the music. The florals were amazing, thank you Marta. And to the chef whose name I do not know- best crab cakes ever! Everyone raved about the bartender, too. That key lime martini was sooo good!
