This is one of those reviews that you are reluctant to write because it will only mean you’ll have more competition to get a table.
But this business is hands-down the best sushi in the entire area. Not least because the fish is fresh, the restaurant itself is lovely and clean and spacious, but because they make you feel so welcome. The owner will come up to your table without fail, recognizing you if this is a return visit, and without any awkwardness make you feel welcome.
The restaurant is oversubscribed. They do not have online reservations and you need to arrive knowing that you might be on the waitlist. But with a little patience, you will be rewarded handsomely.
My favorite part however, is that when the tourists flock into Santa Rosa Beach, the owner and his wife shoot off on grand Summer adventures elsewhere and close that little shop for most of June and July. The reason being that they belong to an elite set of restaurants that are able to fill every cover throughout the week with locals for the rest of the year.
With that rare combination of great food, ambience and personal service, they don’t even need the summer rush.

Go here. Full stop. You will not regret it. This was the best sushi we've had in years! We recommend the Sim roll and viagara roll. You will not find a better sushi restaurant in the area and the staff are amazing. We cannot wait to come back! Thank you to Andy and staff for an amazing dinner and experience for our family.

I moved to Destin in 2010, and as a local, there is 1 name in town for the best sushi. It is Sushimoto. I’ve been to all the local places, and they’re good, but hands down, Sushimoto is the best. Andy will take care of you, and the selections are all epic. Anybody that comes to visit should eat here.

This is our absolute favorite place for a special dinner. Disregard the “1” star post which has fake pictures (not even close to accurate pictures from Sushimoto). The owner operators are great people and always make an effort to visit the table to just see how everything is going …sushi with friendship, guaranteed!

Came here for a birthday dinner but the vegetarian selection for sushi was very slim only two items I could get. Other vegetarian options had fish broth in them.
Friendly greeting the moment we walked in. Fantastic staff. Very good sushi and teriyaki bowls. We ate so quickly, the photos are just crumbs. Surf & Turf roll, Tarzan, Danny rolls were all tasty. We also liked the iced green tea.
