Stopped by for a sandwich. I ordered the Asheville Hwy, and it was freshly prepared. Great sandwich shop in Monticello.

We were exploring the countryside around Tallahassee and decided to try Tupelo's for lunch. It's a very informal place with an old Florida vibe--linoleum tiles on floor, mismatched but comfortable table and chairs. You order at the counter and within a few minutes you pick up your sandwiches in a brown paper bag--ready to eat inside or take out. My BLT on rye was the best BLT ever! Tons of bacon and fat slices of a juicy tomato with crunchy lettuce on bakery bread. (I had told my husband "white" bread, but he heard "rye," and I'd order it that way again.) Husband ordered the tuna salad which was also top quality. The tuna was chock full of goodies, and the sandwich also had farm-fresh tomatoes and lettuce plus a slice of cheese. Their prices are extremely reasonable. After lunch I bought two pastries from their case to take home. We've already sampled the cinnamon bun, and it's the best I've had since the ones made by the lunch ladies at my elementary school back in the 1950s--the ultimate compliment. Next time we're in Monticello, we'll certainly go to Tupelo's again. I'd like to try the quiche, but I may not be able to resist the BLT.

Very deceiving. Went there for an apparently overpriced sandwich and a dessert, which tasted and held all the appearance of a machine- assisted cake from Costco. The sandwich was constructed from a packaged meat, not deli fresh sliced and placed on cheap white bread not homemade. Plus you couldn't miss the Kirkland brand labels sitting atop the fly-ridden cutting board from which the sandwich was being constructed. Do yourself a favor skip over this place.

They have an excellent lunch menu and delicious looking pastries. It’s nice because you can order a half or whole sandwich and make it a combo with a drink and chips for $3. More. Very reasonably priced. The Italian sandwich and blt as well as a raspberry cream cheese brioche we had were delicious. The staff they have there are so very pleasant.

Had lunch today and it was delicious! Pearl Street sandwich is my new “go to”. Husband had the Asheville Hwy sandwich and said it was really good too. Finished off with a blueberry cookie —- yum! Well done ladies!

Best lunch restaurant ever. I was so excited to be there. The staff were friendly and patient as I tried to decide which sandwich and which salad I would choose. The sweet ice tea was delicious. I loved that they use as much as possible local fresh produce.

This is a delicious little cafe in the heart of Monticello. I had a half of a BLT on their fresh baked bread and let me tell you, they did not skimp on the bacon. It was so flavorful! If I am ever back in town, I will definitely be eating there again.

Fantastic quiche and nice pastry & dessert selection. A must visit when we are in Monticello. Lots of good coffee selections, too.

Pretty busy and just a few tables. The food is soooo good. Whether you stay and dine in or take out, it is worth every bite.

Came through the downtown area on the way back from donating items to the local school. My friend wanted to stop at what she described as "a great little place." The cafe is just the right size, indoor seating (there appeared to be one table outside). Good service. I ordered a piece of tomato/feta/spinach quiche and a slice of zucchini bread. My friend ordered the hippie chick salad and a slice of lemon cake. From what I understand, many of their ingredients come from local farms; the to-go container for my quiche appeared to be very biodegradable, which is great; love when restaurants are eco-friendly! While waiting for our order, we were able to step over a few feet to a nice little "gift shop like" store - Full Moon Farm Store. This store had all kinds of goodies, from locally made honey (various flavors) to goat milk scented soaps to essential oils. The young lady at the cash register in the store was so very pleasant. Back to our lunch - I enjoyed the quiche; some spinach on the top was a bit "crispy," but that was fine; the zucchini bread was tasty, though I did not care much for the chocolate chips that I didn't realize were in the bread. My friend enjoyed the chicken salad and her cake. I will plan to visit again and try that famous chicken salad - and perhaps the scones.
