I had such a great experience here! I ordered the carne a la plancha, and it was absolutely delicious perfectly seasoned, tender, and full of flavor. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the service made everything even better.

A special shoutout to Roxanne, my server, who was incredibly patient and kind. She took the time to explain the menu and recommended exactly what I ended up getting and I’m so glad she did! You can tell she really cares about giving guests a great experience.

I’ll definitely be coming back!

My wife and I ate at Sabor y Vida Tuesday, Oct. 21. The Arroz con Chaufa was heavily over-salted. I guessed they used salty soy sauce, then added more salt. We couldn't eat it. After a few bites, we asked for doggie boxes, but I should have just refused the meals. We will toss the boxes, not inflict this on a dog. Service was slow, and the kitchen staff very noisy, but that's not why I'll never return. It's the food.

My first experience at Sabor y vida gave me 2 for 1 margs and enough delicious Latin food to have 2 days worth of leftovers afterwards. Not to mention how attentive and kind my server Emma was! 10/10 recommend and will be back!

I live in Tallahassee, but this place is worth the drive!! Mouth watering, authentic Latin food with a HUGE variety of options. Emma has been my server the past couple times I have gone. She has such a warm smile walking up to the table at all times, and really knows her stuff.

First...most of these reviews come from the previous restaurant and is not a reflection of the current operation. This is not the Rev Cafe anymore. This is Latin or more of an attempt at Latin food...

Wife and I stopped for dinner (6:30-7ish) on a Sat night passing through from Tally to Valdosta. Place was pretty empty with only three other tables with guests (maybe 15 customers total). We chose to sit outside, which was nice. Service was ok but with four tables total and what looked like a hostess, two servers and one busboy on the main floor it should have been a lot faster.

I ordered a coke and my wife had a water. The coke was one that the previous restaurant used, where they mix the syrup and carbonated water. It was not very good, tasted more like a seltzer water than a coke. We decided to split a meal and an appetizer, thank goodness we did! The appetizer was one each beef and chicken empanada. @ $3.50ea I thought they would be a lot bigger. They were both very hard and brittle, almost like chewing on a hard candy. The stuffing was not desirable either. We couldn't finish either one, which when cut in half were about the size of a doughnut hole, maybe 1-2 bites each.

Out came the main, which looked nothing like the picture on the menu. The pork belly was way over cooked in the fryer, beans were straight out of a can. The steak felt like it was cooked in a microwave, same with the sausage. Our plantains were cut very thick and were so, so. The corn bread was a little thick and kind of doughy. The rice and fried egg were the best tasting items on the plate. With that being said, we both tasted everything but finished nothing. I would say we left 90% of the food on the table.

Waitress checked on us one time during the meal to ask how everything was and after a brief awkwardly pause we both looked at her and said...honestly it is not very good! She said sorry and left; we didn't see her again until I went into the restaurant to get the check and pay.

There are a few other places to eat in Monticello and the two we passed on the way out of town had parking lots full of cars! Maybe they already knew something we didn't?

Very disappointed to say the least. When customers leave that much food, there is a problem! Hopefully they can figure that out or this place will not be open long!

Waitress was polite but had no idea what she was doing. We had to ask for silverware after our appetizers arrived. I ordered the ribeye and my wife ordered the steak ala plancha. We asked for chimichuri on the side. I asked for salad and fries for my sides. She didn't ask what dressing for my salad and I had to call her back to the table to request vinaigrette. I expected the salad to come first but after waiting for about 10 minutes, I asked and was informed it comes with the meal. I thought it odd but let it go. Waited another 30 minutes for the food. We were both disappointed. No chimichuri. Waitress said they didn't have time to make it this morning. The vinaigrette tasted like straight white vinegar. The fries were obviously frozen, which i normally dont mind but for the price we paid i expected fresh made. The steaks were so salty we could barely eat them. In fact they were so salty my tongue felt raw when we left. We had to stop at a fast food place and get a milkshake to cut the salt taste we still had 10 minutes after we left. I expect better especially after spending more than $60. We won't be back.

Open between lunch and dinner, when most restaurants are closed in town.

Flies all around our food, they were out of rice, the steak was so overcooked it was like jerky And the black beans tasted like a salt block. When I let the waitress know my food was not edible and she could visibly see it, I was given a $4 discount, which basically covered my Diet Coke.

Ordered online, received email my order had been accepted. Arrived at restaurant and they told me My order had been cancelled, no apology, no let’s work with you or anything. Pathetic customer service.
