Horrible food we got the rev up burger to go my fiancé egg was already busted in his fries my burger was medium rare i asked for it to be well done since im pregnant mine was missing a fried green tomato and cheese and his was missing cheese as well. The fried green tomatoes were cut horrible they were so this it felt like we were biting into a apple. The fries were so seasoned it was overwhelming. I just think if we are spending 40 dollars on food we ought to get something better than what we had and i didn't want to drive a hour back to get our food redone
Fish sandwich 18.00, maybe 4 oz fish. Dry and did not smell fresh. Should have sent back but as it took 30 minutes to get my lunch could not wait for them to get it right. Sent half back with the waitress and let her know not good. She did nothing.
We had such a pleasant experience here, the chicken pate was delicious and the mains were both so tasty. I assumed it was run by a French chef but I was wrong, he was a local! 5* to the chef behind the cooking, you’ve done a fantastic job of bringing France to Bali. (Who would have thought?)
Most everything is good. Just dont order the fried chicken. Tasted a day old. Grits were great and drinks. Left a healthy tip.
On the way home we chanced by Rev. What a find! Soft shell crab for lunch with the best veggies in a while. Service was first class and very reasonable prices. I didn't try but the venison and the bison shepherds pie are calling my name. Don't miss a chance to enjoy this great little jewel
Service was just awful. A young girl who could care less and the food was not made correctly and had to be sent back. Didn't bother ordering anything else because for a empty place, the service was so slow. Don't waste your hard earned money. Drive to the next town. Place was not clean or inviting.
After being seated waited over 30 minutes to have someone take our drink order, then waited another 15 minutes to get some of the drinks. Waitress had to be called back to complete the drink order. The Bistro filet ordered medium was tough and chewy and no flavor. Their chimichurri sauce consisted of marinated chopped onions, I think they need to look up how to make a chimichurri sauce. Sides of mashed potatoes and asparagus was good though. Burger was nothing special and fries came out cold, but the waitress did offer to take the cold fries back to the kitchen and warm them up. Really how were they going to warm the fries. Draft beer was not cold. FIRST AND LAST VISIT .
I ordered the pick 2 seafood plate and had the grouper and shrimp. It was average at best. The breading on the shrimp was so thin and had a bit of a fishy taste like it was cooked in old oil and the grouper was definitely frozen and didn't taste or look like grouper at all. The only thing that was above average were their homemade French fries. If I were to ever go back, I would order something different.
Not much of a selection in town to begin with so perhaps people just accept the sub-par food. Portions were small and not really well presented.
I had shrimp & grits, and my daughter a burger with onion rings & homemade jelly on it. Both meals were so good, and our server was so nice!

I ate here several months ago and I am going to be in the area next week so I plan on making a side trip to visit this restaurant again. My experience here was exceptional. The food is so well done, perfect in every way possible, from the unique menu, stylish plating, savory flavors and finally the excellent service. If you savor the old south, do not miss the collard greens. My mouth is watering just thinking about how great they are.
The setting is a bit like eating in a warehouse. Service was a bit slow but friendly. My husband loved his shrimp & grits. I had the crab cakes and they were large and ok but had a bit too much filling. They seemed a bit foundry to me. I'm a harsh critic of crab cakes so perhaps others will like them. The bread pudding was excellent - we took two pieces to go and it gave 3 of us dessert for two nights.
Brought some of my family from Georgia to eat here! I'm a local but my 1st time also. We ordered so much food I thought it was going to fall off the table! I recommend the fried green tomatoes as a starter, they were delish! I didn't care for the fried pickles though. Grilled mini crab cakes were ok. My shrimp were a little overcooked, scallops a little under. Seasoning could have been better. The "cola" that I tasted was pretty great. Tractor cola and root beer. They closed early due to staffing issues. But all in all, I definitely will be back! 5 stars from this chick!!! Thank you Rev Cafe!
Our first night visiting Monticello and we ate at Rev Cafe. The vegan chili is to die for!! Seriously it was so tasty?. We had the side salads and the beer bread and it was so good! Went back for a taste of the satsuma beer, really good!
Good food, nice menu, great setting, but seating and initial service needs improvement. Shrimp and Grits is a unique recipe that tastes really good, but I felt there could have been less grits and a few more shrimp. The Monti Burger was excellent and kudos for the use of satsuma jam. The fries are amazing! We would definitely go back.
