I have nothing but good things to say about my experience at The Daffodil House. My family and I had a rough cross-country trip during our move back to Florida. My car was making funny sounds, so I found the closest place to lay our heads down for the night while we figured out what was going on. Cathy and Scott welcomed us with open arms and made us feel right at home. Such wonderful and gracious hosts. Their home was absolutely gorgeous, filled with adventures and treasures from around the world. Each room has a different theme. We were placed in the Victorian room, 2 Queen beds, with a large tiled shower. Victorian is my favorite! It's like they knew me already. It was a little dusty, and I am allergic, so I got a little stuffy, but it was manageable and I was still comfortable and able to sleep well. The beds were so soft and comfy, too! Which is good for me because I have a bad back. Everything smelled so good. Bedding and Towels were clean and fresh. The hosts were so kind to my little one and to my spouse and myself. My daughter has quite a bit of energy and the hosts kept up well with her! Cathy is a wonderful cook. Her food is so yummy! She also has a cookbook! Scott is a collector and is so fun to talk to! We had some pretty great conversations. They also host events, such as a meet and greet with Santa, Ghost Tours, Weddings and Tea Time. Breakfast is included, if you want dinner be prepared to pay a little extra. They have cats and are pet-friendly. Overall experience was phenomenal. ✨️🙌 I cannot thank them enough for all of their help. 🥰 We will certainly be back sometime! Thank you Cathy, Scott, & Salli from housekeeping. ❤️❤️❤️
We just finished an amazing trip at the Daffodale House. The owners are very hospitable and make you feel like family. It's a gorgeous Victorian house filled with antiques. We stayed while going on a tour of FSU which is not far. We hope to stay here again.
Afternoon tea as a special treat with my sister. We loved it!
This B&B is simply incredible. The hosts are friendly and you most definitely are fed well. Kathy cooks up an excellent breakfast and you need to take advantage of her wonderful prime rib night! She always has a great smile that she greets you with every morning. Scott is full of stories and laughs. He is quite the lovble character who goes the extra mile to ensure you are comfortable!
The bed was awesome in the Safari room, shower had great pressure, plenty of towels and coffee and water is set up outside the room. The room itself is filled with beautiful mirrors and great stuff to look at. Fantastic huge wrap around porch out front with rocking chairs to relax on at night!
Folks, this is no sterile hotel, it's clean, warm, and friendly. We enjoyed every minute of our stay.
Nearby activities: Tons of shops and places to eat! Winery to visit! Museum@ opera house! All within walking distance.

My wife surprised me with a night on the town after coming home from a business trip, and boy, was I surprised! We had a DELICIOUS 5 course meal prepared by Ms. Kathy, all while having loving, genuine, and comedic conversations with Mr. Scott.
We stayed in the carriage house for the night, and my biggest regret is that it was only for the night! I would have LOVED to stay for another night.
The personality, joy, and stories provided by Mr. Scott; paired with the talent, love, and personality of Ms. Kathy feels like you've been welcomed home by a family you didn't know you had!
We met a WONDERFUL couple during breakfast and enjoyed a DELICIOUS meal, GREAT conversation, and a LOVING atmosphere.❤️❤️❤️
We CAN'T WAIT to go back!
Rooms: Carriage house (Cowboy Indian room) is awesome. Includes a usable kitchen setup, very comfortable bed, private porch, HUGE tub, bamboo forest, and TONS of fans! ???
Nearby activities: Church, antiques, food, u-pick farms, college sports
Safety: Stay on the sidewalks and you'll be fine!
Walkability: Monticello has a larger small town center and The Daffodil House is just outside of the town center, with less than a 5 min walk to local restaurants, antique shops, bakeries, and shopping.
Food & drinks: This establishment has a DELICIOUS food and dessert menu to choose from, as well as an equally valued South African wine list
Noteworthy details: we LOVED the "Cowboy and Indian" carriage house. Private. Comfortable. Perfect.

We purchased the ghost tour with the pasta dinner. The meal was wonderful. We started with a fresh loaf of rosemary bread and a salad with a delicious homemade dressing made with fresh herbs like I've never tasted before. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the desert was served with delicious french pressed coffee. The host were great and entertaining. The "ghost tour" was just okay at best. We walked on a trail around the southern charmed property with large oak and magnolia trees before touring the house. If you don't have very good footing, I would recommend sitting this part out due to the large roots and uneven ground on the trail. The house was packed full of flea market trinkets and souvenirs, which are all for sale if you find any of them interesting. The tour guide and owner of the property, was entertaining but this wasn't much of a "ghost tour". More like an exhibit of his collection from years of flea market buying. Any way, the meal it's self was worth the cost of the cost.
For my partner and I, this was divine intervention. On a week-long trip we looked for a place near Tallahassee to stop over and came across Daffodale. Luckily, there were rooms available, and our stay was on Valentines Day. After we booked online, I got a call from one of the Innkeepers, Cathy to ask if we wanted to book dinner as well. The room included breakfast and dinner was optional. The dinner was a 3-course meal, lovely options. There were decorations for Valentine’s Day that were tasteful and cute. I had mentioned that I was gluten free, and Cathy was kind to have gluten free bread for me. It was the best fresh gluten free bread I have ever had!! Dinner was punctual and we did our best to honor their time as well. The safari room is unique, like the entire décor of the house and grounds. Cathy and Scotty have cultivated and curated a full experience that stems from who they are as individuals and as a couple. It was beautiful to see the partnership and business that has grown out of their love for each other and the work they share together. They are great hosts and we felt at peace in their spaces. We wish we could have stayed longer but plan to return. Lots to experience and go with the flow here. It was indeed a blessing.

We stopped into the Daffodale House for afternoon tea. Everything about the experience was wonderful. Cathy was very accomodating when making the reservation, as we were traveling through town and required a later-than-normal tea time. We were warmly greeted upon entering and found our table ready, complete with first course and full teapots. The homemade tea treats were just delicious! The croissant sandwich was a favorite... and the scones were fantastic. The house is lovely and filled with all sorts of interesting antiques. We showed some interest in the ghost tour which led us to meeting Cathy's husband, Scott. He walked us through a few of the rooms and readily discussed his collection of antiques, all the while being thoroughly entertaining. We could not have enjoyed ourselves more and look forward to returning when we are in the area.

My boyfriend and I stayed this weekend for the FSU game and we had a great time! One of the best bed and breakfast places we have been to! The owners were so friendly! We will be making it a yearly tradition to visit again.
