Our server, food and drinks were awesome. We both ordered the burger and some old fashions. Although everything was mouth wateringly delicious, the price tag was a bit steep for what you get. Save this place for a special occasion rather than a casual dine out spot.

Quite frankly the best experience in downtown. The food for all meals is always carefully considered and the farm to table spirit is truly brought to every bite.

I reserved a table for a larger birthday brunch, and they were absolutely fabulous.
I apologize that I don’t recall our servers’ names, but we were the 11 AM party on 10/11/25. The service was fantastic and very accommodating. For instance, a toddler joined our party last minute - every single staff member was very patient and understanding. Thank you all so much for that, I know that was not easy.
Everyone enjoyed their meal immensely. The sleeper hit was the pumpkin soup (not in a basic pumpkin spice way…try it!), and we all agreed we’d go back solely for the fries. The shrimp and grits was also great.
I did call ahead for our larger party, and would recommend doing the same. We were in a more secluded room that was lovely, and quite perfect for all of us to catch up. It was a really nice occasion, all made possible by the kind staff.

The food (at least what we ordered) was horrendous...which was the beef dish with the red rice and the salmon dish. The staff was amazing, the dessert was good, and the environment was nice, but not a fan of the main dishes.

We had a wonderful evening for our anniversary dinner. Our server was amazing. The food was exceptional. The chef did a special dessert for us for our anniversary which was incredible. This is one of my top favorite restaurants in Florida. We came to Mt Dora specifically to come to this restaurant.

Unfortunately, 1921 in Mount Dora falls short of expectations. The prices feel steep for what you get—$45 entrées underwhelm, and the sophisticated décor can’t compensate. Despite the buzz, it’s overpriced, and not worth the hype. Service staff are gossipy!

Very Blah Experience. Made reservations for 7pm in Dining Room. Sat for almost 40 minutes at front because table wasn’t ready. Server was the worst. Never smiled, mumbled the whole time, just very blah as if she didn’t want to be there. She seemed very uncomfortable in her role. Ordered the Roasted Oysters and Caesar Wedge Salad - they were fantastic. The octopus had good flavor but, was over cooked, chewy, and barely warm. Wife ordered filet. The quality of the steak was top notch and cooked perfectly. I had the quail. Keep in mind - it’s fried. It was overcooked and greasy. Not the meat but fryer oil greasy. It was served on a bed of a marinated cabbage and greens mix. It had good flavor but you’re given a pound of it. And that’s all it comes with. Picture fried chicken on a mound of Cole slaw for $45. Their claim is everything is locally farmed which is great. But just because someone buys the best paints and brushes, doesn’t make them a great artist. The ambiance in the restaurant should have been the tip off. It’s very reminiscent of a wood paneled Brady Bunch home from the 70’s. Everything is wood and all the same color. The floors, the walls, the tables and chairs, the artwork. All wood - all the same color. There are some nice paintings on the wall but they don’t distract from the cafeteria feel of the dining room. This seems to be one of the more expensive places in town. It’s not very unreasonable but there is definitely better food and service with better prices in town than 1921. Maybe you will have a different experience but would not recommend.

Octopus, roasted oysters and chicken thighs were amazing! Don’t recommend the mussels but the rest of the food and service was amazing.
