Every time my family and I have visited Copa Cabana Cuban Cafe in Mount Dora, we’ve had a great experience!
And this past weekend was no exception. The food was amazing, our server was extremely friendly and accommodating, and always the atmosphere was awesome.
I had the Vaca Frita dish, wish is fried shredded skirt steak, with moros (mixed red beans and white rice), tostones (fried green plantains flattened in medallion shape), and a side of avocado slices.
My drink was a delicious cafe con leche (Cuban style coffee with milk and sugar).
My steak was seasoned and cooked really well, the moros were on point as were the tostones.
For dessert we had Tres leches cake, a moist cake made with sweet condensed milk, evaporated milk and either whole milk or heavy cream, hence the name Tres leches or Three milks. The only thing I can say is, deliciousness!
Vegetarian options: My mother in law is vegetarian, and she chose the fried/breaded mushroom dish.
She enjoyed it a whole lot.

Poor service when we arrived. The bread that was provided was scrapes of bread then told us there was no more bread that lit was just for sandwiches. They had no Pina colada mix, sweet plantains, and no avocado. When I ordered my entree I wanted it specifically because of the avocado and they failed to let me know until I asked and it arrived without it. Also all the food took a long time and I had to ask for my appetizer twice.

Love the place and the food, but I was disappointed that the band was not playing. We brought friends from out of town. They also enjoyed the food.

We made the mistake of thinking this was good Cuban Food.
Athmospehere and service was ok..
But the food.
Worst chimichurri ive ever had. Was thick?
Mojo was oil with chopped garlic you get in a store from a glass jar.
The croquetas were "off"
The black beans were extremely watered down. (Like canned but with water added)
I ordered the churrasco, and all I could taste was lemon.
Wife had the Masitas de Puerco, and same thing with lemon.
The yellow rice were extremely plain.
The sweet plaintains were the frozen and airfried kind.
The pepsi was flat (ordered and asked to fix twice)
I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone.
I wouldn't serve this food to someone I don't like.
I wont order a cafecito because im afraid they will mess that up too.
This was Cuban in name only.

I’ve been eating at this restaurant for over ten years. It used to be THE BEST Cuban restaurant in lake county. Bring back the old green & red sauce recipe. The new ones aren’t nearly as good. The new owners do a decent job but local’s are well aware there have been changes and eat here less often because of it.

Wonderful experience every time! I’ve been here twice, and my family and I prefer their food and service over the other Cuban restaurant near Copacabana. If you’re craving delicious Cuban cuisine, this is the place to be.
The atmosphere is beautiful, and they even have karaoke on some days.
Highly recommend! ??✨

Authentic Cuban restaurant, Cuban atmosphere. We didn't like the food so much. Our barbecue beef was a bit hard to chew, and the kid's hamburger, a bit dry. The moros (rice and non sweet beans) was very good and well seasoned, though. This salt shakers were clogged.

The food was unfortunately bland and flavorless. The restaurant seems run down. We were really disappointed we wasted our money here.
It was okay. Nothing to write home about.
