Some places feed you. Some places pour you a drink. And then there are places that hold you. Eden Abbey is one of those rare spaces where craft meets care, where intention lives in every detail, and where community is not a slogan—but a daily practice of love. The beer crafted by Ben Passmore’s is nothing short of extraordinary—thoughtful, balanced, and brewed with both mastery and soul. And alongside his wife, Eve, the heart of this place beats even stronger. Together, they have created something that goes far beyond a brewery or restaurant. They have built a home. The food is elevated and unexpected—beautifully prepared, deeply satisfying, and far beyond what one anticipates from a brewery. The pretzel bites, buttermilk chicken bites, and wings are all exceptional—perfectly done and crave-worthy. The Mo Clucka sandwich is an absolute standout, and the wraps and salads are just as impressive: fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. There truly isn’t a weak spot on the menu. And the people who serve it? They are family. You can feel it in their laughter, their pride, their presence. No one here is simply “working.” They are welcoming, caring, belonging. In moments when small businesses feel the weight of the world—when a single review can sting deeply—we want it known how profoundly this place matters. Eden Abbey is built on integrity, openness, and an unwavering love for its community. It is a place that listens, learns, grows, and gives. We are endlessly grateful for Ben and Eve, for their remarkable team, and for the sacred space they’ve created—where everyone is welcomed with an open heart, and no one is a stranger for long.

We went Thursday night for fish and chips, I will say they were so good, and the empanadas are some of the best I have ordered. Great staff, nice atmosphere. Looking forward to my next visit.

Great food, friendly people, and the Thursday night running club keeps us moving

A nice little spot with great atmosphere. The food was good -- I recommend the spicy fried chicken sandwich. Service was friendly and checked in regularly. When it came to splitting the bill, a common-enough request, it was kind of a disaster. We even asked before ordering so it wouldn't be a surprise at the end. Since you're using Square, it should be fairly easy. Stuff ended up on the wrong checks, and a few smaller things like drinks were double-charged.

If you love craft beer, this is a must go! I had the most incredible chocolate dunkle and hazy IPA!
The atmosphere is really cute. There is an adorable beer garden in the back.
They have a club where you can paint your own mug and be part of their mug club.
This place is my new favorite brewery.
Also, there’s an attached restaurant. I didn’t have the food, but it looks amazing.

Amazing food, the live music was great and their beers had such a wonderful variety between the flavor profiles that the taste adventure was quite the journey in so many positive ways!

We found Eden Abbey after looking into event spaces in our area, which we had a great experience with when we went with their private room, but will definitely be back time and time again for their amazing food and drink menu and family friendly vibes. The staff were friendly and on top of things each time we’ve been. All around a great local place to visit whether it be just to hang out, for a family dinner, or a special event.

Great food, great staff, great atmosphere. Not much else you could ask for. Love supporting local businesses and we will be repeat customers for sure. We found them through their event space which we had a wonderful experience using as well!

I have been here quite a few times and although I am gluten free and dairy free I have found options. There's a rice bowl option, tostadas, their tater tots are amazing and gluten free, yes tater tots are a weird thing to love, but they're probably the best tater tots I've ever had, and the fries are so good-though I'm not sure if they're celiac friendly they are fine with me (and my last reaction to gluten was from touching flour in papier mache, so I feel safe eating here).
If you're dairy-free, it's simple enough to just ask for items without cheese. Their burgers (I just asked for mine without the bun) are incredible and probably my favorite item on the menu that I've tried.
Being gluten free I'm not into beers of course, but I still enjoy sitting in the tap room with friends and listening to the live music. There are always great bands or musicians playing which just adds to the atmosphere.
However, when I have work to do, I've also sat in the cafe area on my laptop while I ate and enjoyed a quieter section of the restaurant. If you want to brave the heat, the patio is adorable.
If you have kids, they have a kids' area with games and toys, so it's family friendly. Seriously, it caters to anyone even if you're not into alcoholic beverages.
The staff is super friendly as well and always checking in and saying hi. If it's super busy I have had to go up to the bar or the restaurant side window, and order food myself. You may have a bit of a wait for your food if it's busy, but the food is worth the wait. It's a seat yourself place where you can just walk in and choose whatever vibe you want.
They also hosted an event for my writer's group which was in a room we reserved in another part of the building. The price was reasonable and the food options for catering varied.
Eden Abbey and their owners, Ben and Eve, are the reason I come to Mt Dora.
