I work nights, so when I get off work at 7:00am, I want dinner. At this cafe, I can get lunch or dinner even during breakfast hours. I usually get the open faced roast beef for breakfast. You can also get a cheeseburger or anything else on the menu, regardless of the time of day. They are best known for their breakfasts. My church parishioners all love the breakfasts.Great food and staff. It’s a small town cafe, great food, like mom used to make. Busy on Sunday’s after church.I’ve also ordered their food to go. The food portion sizes are large.

Locals in downtown recommend HSC and we were blown away by the food and the service. It was so good we will definitely be back. The biscuits are so fluffy and tasty and the grits are the best I’ve had since leaving Atlanta. ????

One of the better places to have breakfast in Mount Dora .. not perfect, service can be slow and the food is good .. but nothing awesome. But we’ll be back.

My breakfast sandwich and the side of potatoes were so greasy they were barely edible.

Portions are generous. The tuna salad was delicious, and the fried fish was good. Pleasant servers.

Let me tell you about a disappointing dining experience. With the warmth of expectation, fueled by the glowing reviews and high hopes. It was a Saturday afternoon, around noon when we came, and now instead of enjoying my time off, here I am writing this review. I'd rather be doing anything else, believe me.I had high hopes when I chose this place for breakfast with my aunt who came all the way from New York. But boy, was I wrong. The wait for our meals stretched over 45 minutes despite the thinning crowd. When our plates finally arrived, they bore the hallmark of neglect: cold pancakes, overcooked bacon, and a conspicuous absence of attentive service. No one ever bothered to check on us. I had to get up to ask for basic things like hot sauce and takeout boxes. The bill was steep for what we got, I honestly would rather eat gas station sushi then return here. As we left, I couldn't help but notice neglected bacon in the kitchen, now I know where the bad bacon came from. It's just not worth it. Save yourself the trouble and find somewhere else to eat.

The food is delicious. They usually have good specials. The biscuits and gravy is my favorite dish. I don't care for the coffee but everything else is

The first time I went this place was great! As soon as I was seated I was assisted by a server, and then I got my food and drink about 5 minutes after, the pictures hung up are nice but it's a bit too much dogs in my opinion.Going for a second time and I'm going to see if it's the same. Oh and they just give out their refills of drinks without asking, it's great for me honestly.

Been coming to this place for ten years. Will not return. Had to wait 1 1/2 hours for our food. We waited very patiently and did not complain until it reached about an hour and well after customers had came and went after eating their food while we sat and waited. The waitress was of no help when we voiced our concern over the waiting time. Did not care. Was cold. We were friendly the whole time and we were treated like that. The food quality was poor, but the prices were very great. They've lost our business forever.

We love this place! I had the veggie trash plate with eggs, cheese, and hash browns and my husband loves the pancakes. We always stop here when we are in town. Cute Scottie dog decor and professional, friendly service.

We stopped for our annual lunch at the Highland Street Cafe today and it did not disappoint. I love their Trash Plate breakfasts with egg and cheese and hash browns mixed with fresh veggies. My husband enjoys their big, fluffy pancakes. The servers were attentive and helpful. I love looking at all of the dog pictures in the wall - Scottie's are one of my favorite breeds!
