EDIT: I am adding this to the top of my review because the owner falsely accused me of lying and she blatantly lied. I wrote this immediately after I left, after reporting the company for denying an accommodation, when I had a witness with me. I pride myself in my honesty and integrity. First of all, we did not arrive until around 9:45 and she told us that we could not have the overhead fluorescent light off (it was only one overhead, directly above the table in the corner we were sitting) at 10:30; thus, we were only there for 45 minutes maximum this day before we left. SHE is actually lying and accusing me of doing so to save face on this Google review. Second, as I stated, there were NO other customers in the facility aside from a couple next to the counter and one on the patio; none in our room. & we said we had NO problem if they needed to turn it on if other people did come in. At that time, and when we left, it was dead. No one was in that room or the more interior room next to it. No one even tried to come in. The owner is lying in her reply here and it's despicable.

For the last few months I have been coming here to work remotely in a corner from 9:45-around noon once a week. I have sensory issues, so it's difficult to find places that are comfortable and relaxing that are not my home. I loved the fact that this seemed to be a "mom and pop" cafe and loved giving them business, as small businesses need. Even though they tend to keep the music too loud in the interior enclosed room, but have always turned the music down for us, if requested, or I just wear my noise-cancelling headphones if they don't. The food is nothing to write home about, but the avocado breakfast sandwich is decent. We have always tipped them well for their service, and they've always been kind until today. There was a young girl working there who I've never seen before that was incredibly condescending from our first interaction. I'm not sure if it's because of her age or because I'm obviously a member of the LGBT community and she has something against that, but it was unsettling. Regardless, I still settled into one of the two corners that I work in when I go there for a few hours (once a week and always leave before noon). The older woman, who I assume was the young girls mother and who I *have* seen and has always been outwardly kind, asked if we turned the overhead fluorescent light out and if we wanted it off. I said yes, due to my disability that causes sensory issues with overhead fluorescent lighting. She said okay and left. I assume she asked the crass young girl to tell us we couldn't have it on because the girl came in, flipped the switch and curtly said, "this HAS to stay on." I could understand if there were other people in the room, but not only were there not other people in the room, but there were only two other parties in the entire establishment, nowhere near the room we were in. I explained my disability and the need for the accommodation and stated that I would be happy to switch rooms if someone came in and wanted the overhead fluorescent light on and she laughed at me and said I wasn't the only person there and other people would be arriving for lunch soon. I stated again that I would be happy to move if other people did come in, but there was no one else right now. Literally all it takes is the flip of a switch to turn that one overhead light on/off. And there is ample natural light/floor lamps in that room so it wasn't dark, by any means. All she did was continue to laugh and mock me. So we unfortunately left and will not be returning due to their refusal to allow a simple accommodation to a person with a disability and subsequent mocking. I wouldn't have requested it if there were other people there or if others arrived. I have been coming here once a week for the last few months and this has never happened. What came to be a comfort spot is now a place I will not return to due to this experience. I have also filed

The girl at the counter with brown hair running the register should stay in the back and not speak to customers. She is consistently rude and has no people skills. I let this slide a few times, but today just got to me… People like this need called out. I come here at least once a week and never fails. She Makes you feel like you’re annoying her That she has to sit on a chair and push some buttons and absolutely as rude as they come. After being completely rude at the counter, she literally sits there on her phone annoyed with anyone that comes to the register because they’re bothering her and her phone time. On top of that, I had a vent that leaked water onto my daughters meal and when I told her the sandwich just got water from the ceiling dripped on it she looked at me and said as rude as can be so what do you want another sandwich at that point I was like Common sense should’ve kicked in and said obviously I want a new sandwich. I don’t want a sandwich with water from the ceiling dripped on it. ??‍♀️??‍♀️??‍♀️

Used to love this place but not anymore! It's gone down! Their customer service is the worst...bad attitudes! The only thing going for them is the location and the view of Mount Dora from the balcony! The food is overpriced and mid at best, excluding desserts. There are a lot better places in the area, don't waste your time or money!

This place has a great location, tons of space inside, an interesting layout, and an amazing balcony. I LOVE that balcony. If you get there early enough, you can enjoy peace and silence and even imagine yourself traveling a few decades ago.

However, the food and coffee are disappointing. I've tried this place six times, hoping each time that they would improve, even though no one promised they would. I just can't comprehend how such a cool place can care so little about the food they serve.

I don't get it. With all the tourists visiting this little town, don't you want to try harder? The coffee is just bad. I'm not a coffee snob, and I don't mind Starbucks, but this is just no.

The quiche is overpriced for what you get. I've tried both options.

I just hope that one day, someone with a real taste for beauty and style will either buy out this place or manage to improve it. Given the number of tourists and the great location, you could change the menu and even charge more.

The best option here is one of their sample boards and wine.

I hesitated to post this review because the people who work here seem very nice. However, I also feel sorry for the tourists expecting a "wow" experience and getting an "okay" one.

Underwhelming. Expected a bit more based on several of the reviews. Located upstairs (duh), One Flight Up has a simple cafe menu with very limited breakfast offerings. I had the Quiche (spinach, artichoke). A small slice, tasty, but overall disappointing since I paid $9. The one-size Latte, served in a plain mug, was basic, hot, but not very strong (recommend getting an extra shot) Perhaps a better lunch place. The atmosphere was the best part about the place; nice, kitchy, ample indoor and outdoor patio seating with a lot of original art with 70’s music playing in the background. Overall, not bad but not worth the price I paid. Lots of other choices in town.

Parking: Very limited street parking, but there are lots if you don’t mind the walk.
