This is my first time to visit the Mount Dora Perkins. Our server was Crystal and she was excellent. Here’s a tip - get the apple caramel pie. It did not disappoint.

We have ALWAYS loved Perkins. In nearly 50+ years, we have never ever been to a Perkins that we did not like ... until today! The waitress was abrupt and no smile, though we were polite and friendly, she did not respond. I ordered turkey and dressing dinner. The turkey was dry and hard, the dressing was hard in parts and mushy in other parts. Just could not finish it. Ordered pie as dessert ... it was the one and only good thing. At checkout, there were 3 ahead of us. The cashier was having a difficult time and so slow with each person checking out. At our turn to checkout, we also ordered orange-cranberry muffins to take home. Checking out was another slow process. We later tried the muffins at home. They were dry too, not moist and flavorful as we usually get at Perkins. We will never go back to that Perkins. It is no wonder there were barely any people eating at this Perkins. We should have realized there might be a problem there when we saw so few cars in their parking area. There are two other Perkins in our area that do live up to their good old name. But the Mt. Dora FL Perkins might as well close their doors. It is substandard, to say the least. New manager, chef/cook staff, and waitress staff are needed.

The staff here are very nice and the restaurant is clean, which I really appreciated. Unfortunately, the food just wasn’t good at all and did not taste fresh, which was disappointing. I wish I could rate higher because the employees were kind, but the food quality really needs improvement.

Ran out of the kids menu and didn't know it either...

The place looks dirty, run down, and outdated. the prices are not consistent with the portions, little portions and high prices. When I asked the waiter why the potato pancakes were so expensive? ($12.29 for 3 very thin pancakes) He said oh, I didn't know they had raised the prices 🤔In my opinion the waiter should have studied the menu when he got the job, should have suggested that ordering the meal would have been cheaper than ordering separately. My husband enjoyed his breakfast, his grits were lumpy and not fresh tasting, though the portion was right.

I love Perkins. The muffins are wonderful and so are the omelets. Server was very efficient and really friendly while remaining professional. A good place to have a big breakfast!
Try the blueberry muffins.
