This was the hot spot 15 years ago. They have taken a fast decline over the years. The food that was once phenominal is absolutely horrible. There isn't one bartender that makes a drink recipe the same as another. I had a mojito the last time I was there that almost made me vomit. The time before the same drink was very good as an example. Also I have been when bartenders changed shifts. Drinks completly changed at shift change. AKA NO MANAGEMENT / NO LEADERSHIP / BAD BUSINESS MANAGEMENT. So don't believe the great publicity! YES they use to be great. NO they aren't any longer. Its a shame! Poor management and greed has won at the customers expense. Don't support this place. The Puke Bowl says it all. The worst, cheapest fish with 90% rice for $25 I believe? Close to it. I got sick it was so bad! At this point when they take money for what they serve it is criminal! They are robbing you without having a gun pointed at you. Hopefully Chapter 11 soon so someone that has pride can put something nice at this great location!!! Beware stay away meanwhile!!!

Replying to Joshua the NEW owner thats responsible for the failure is pointless. He is certainly no Annie Winters! When she owned it I had NOTHING BUT GREAT FEEDBACK! Joshua shouldn't own a Chucky Cheese. Enjoy Chapter 11!

I think it was way too expensive for what you got. I mean, the food was good, although I can't really say because I only got a hamburger and that was $20. Atmosphere was great and the service was great, but the prices are a bit much. $50 for a eight ounce filet, $25 for smoked kingfish appetizer. We were there at lunchtime.

12/26/25
Server: West (whom was very nice)
Food ordered: crab cakes, blackened tuna, 12 raw oysters.
My husband and I arrived at about 4:30pm. Food orders start at 5pm our food was served at about 5:50pm. We had no issues with the bartender and the other workers around the bar were very nice as well.
The oysters were my order and unfortunately (not my first time eating oysters) I became SEVERELY ill shortly after getting home and was bedridden for the rest of the night and all day Saturday with food poisoning. It completely ruined my weekend with family. Today is Sunday 12/27 and I finally have the strength to move around the house. Not well enough to go outside and spend time with my grandkids. My entire weekend was ruined!

This has ALWAYS been our go to restaurant when visiting Mount Dora, which makes this even more upsetting. As a fine dining establishment, I expect much higher standards especially when serving raw oysters. I hope management takes food safety more seriously going forward!!

Great location, inside reminds me of an older style clubhouse, refined but casual Outside is casual relaxed with a beautiful view. I recommend making a reservation, they can be very busy. Excellent food, quality service and a nice variety of beer and spirits.

Great location, menu looked interesting. We were told we would have to wait 2 hours to be seated even though the restaurant was 2/3 full.

Had reservations for 6pm Christmas Eve. Table ready as soon as we checked in. Very busy but service was fantastic. Appetizer and entrees were very good. First time dining here but not the last. We will return.

This is in regard to the catering.

Pieces Rising was an incredible choice for our wedding catering. The food was absolutely delicious, and we received so many compliments from our guests throughout the night.

The chicken piccata was a standout perfectly cooked and full of flavor and the brisket egg roll apps were a huge hit. Everything was thoughtfully prepared and served, making the entire dining experience feel elevated and memorable.

We couldn’t have been happier with Pieces Rising and would highly recommend them to any couple looking for amazing food that guests will truly remember.

Pisces rising is an outstanding venue for a restaurant complex! I say complex because it has multiple areas for casual and more sophisticated dining. There is an outdoor patio area and outdoor bar with views of the lake which is wonderful, weather permitting. There are also semi-private rooms indoor for larger groups as well as standard restaurant on the main floor. The service was excellent, and the food was simply incredible! Very unique offerings with reasonable portion sizes for the price! What highly recommend is for anyone visiting the area as a first stop before perusing the shops!

Horrible service, horrible food. Came out cold. Offered me to take it back to “reheat” it. Waited over 1 hour for food. Waited 1 hour and half for a table to see tons of empty tables all around. Trashy drunk women trying to escape the bill and being followed by bartender to pay type atmosphere.

We called for a reservation, was told outside seating is first come first serve. We went but were told it was a 45 min wait even though there were 3-5 empty tables outside the whole time we were there (we had to sit by the bar) I took pictures. There was nobody waiting on those tables and the person in front of me was seated in 5 min. I took pictures of the empty tables. You almost lost revenue from us and who knows how many others by your reception not filing those tables

Hostess left me waiting at the door with a party of 6 to talk on the phone to a party of 8 that were asking to hold a table. She indicated they had tables if they hurried because they were not that busy. Then when she got off the call (which took a few minutes) she told me it would be a 45 min wait maybe longer. We left and won't be back. If she is not there in future visits we might try again. 1st, she should have put them on hold and helped us, second there were many open tables, third unless you take a payment on that call then take the customer in front of you. This was 12/19/2025 evening around 6pm. We were open to sit wherever.
