We come here often ! We feel like family with great people and some of the best weinerschnitzel that we ever had! Glad we wound up here!
Yummiest food and our waitress was the best!!! My favorite sign ever!! For the others that gave a bad review for the sign, have a sense of humor. Geez . Anyways! We loved this place, we’ll definitely be back here!
Looks like this restaurant is going to go out of business soon. Used to like this place a lot but it’s gone downhill over the years. So disappointing!
The food is always good. The service could be better.
Food is great. Better than hollerbach over at Sanford. Everything was perfectly cooked and well seasoned. Some issues I had was the space was small, food to a long time to come out, and there's a share plate charge. What that means is that if you have people who are not really eating but just snacking off of your plate then they will charge you 10 per person for them to be there. I'm told it's on the menu but I think it would be great if the server mentioned it was well. Would've just bought food for them as good as the food was.
Food is fabulous and our service was very pleasant...our favorite German restaurant in the area!
The food was decent. The Sauerbraten was good, not exceptional. The Wiener Schnitzel was good. The service was great. The beer was great.
Food was amazing, parking was not so well food was way too pricey but delicious.
My husband and I had two completely different experiences at this restaurant. He had the sauerbraten with cabbage and potato salad and really enjoyed it.
I had the breaded Jaeger Schnitzel with potato salad and a side salad and it was average at best. The side salad was 3-day-old Rusty lettuce and bottled ranch dressing. They do not offer that sour cream cucumber onion salad dish that you find at so many German restaurants. The potato salad is not German potato salad it's just potato salad. It tasted good but both of us really were hoping we could get German style potato salad.
My husband liked The Hofbrau Beer.
I will not go back there again there are too many nice restaurants in Mount Dora to go back again and just have average food.
Great place to eat, great customer service...

Don’t waste your time and money … to give you an idea of the business philosophy of this establishment it starts with the sign at the entrance:”This isn’t Burger King, you can’t have it your way and if you don’t like it my way then you aren’t getting a damn thing”! They charge for splitting, they make you purchase water if you don’t have a beer or wine, the brats wurst was over cooked and bland. The potato salad had basically no taste. The potato soup, bread and Riesling wine were good. They discourage you from paying with a credit card (but don’t charge a surcharge). There seem to be much better options for a good dining experience in other establishments in town. I would dine elsewhere.
The German experience in Mount Dora.
Amazing food, beer, and especially service! I would recommend this spot to anyone looking for great German fare!
As a German American, I am always excited to find a good German restaurant in Florida…well this is not one! Terrible service by a rude server and manager. We were there for 2 hours and we only ordered sandwiches. The place was not full.
My veal schnitzel was overcooked and dry. No sides or toppings with the food.
At least my imported Munich beer was cold and tasty.
We drove an hour with friends, looking forward to our lunch. The menu was abbreviated because of the art festival. They would not give us separate checks because of the special event, and we didn't like the sign saying this is not Burger King. You can't have it your way! It's not a very good atmosphere......we won't be back!!
