I love the food but I'll never eat in at this place again. My order came to $16.56 and I was charged $19.87. I left a tip but not to equal that amount primarily because the waitress 1) didn't hear me calling her even though I was 3 feet from her and 2) because she took my plate before I was done. What a shame.

The freshest, most perfectly cooked and seasoned food. My mom had the crab cakes and they were exploding with flavor and beautifully presented.
My wife and I are vegetarian. The salad was crisp and nicely prepared, onion rings were lightly breaded and light, and hush puppies were exceptional.
Waitress was a pleasure and even came back to check an ingredient to see if we ate it.
Also, a very reasonable price. Highly recommend this gem.

We discovered the whale tail fish house in Mount Dora while watching a YouTuber going to different restaurants, and this was one of them. So we decided to give it a try it, not a very big place inside, but quaint. We were greeted by our waitress. She was very friendly and polite we. Ordered.
Broiled Haddock, fried clams, and oysters. Along with a couple of appetizers, One order of Hush Puppies 1 order of their awesome onion rings We will return you can bet on that. Definitely give this location a try.we returned 6-22 for another great meal , we ordered the full belly clams, and the clam strips again. They were both very good. We had the same waitress. I don't know if she's the only one that works there, but she does an excellent job. Thank you. If you're wondering, we drive a little bit over an hour to get to this location but it's definitely worth it .

This is the best place around to eat clam strips!! All the rest is good too but best clam strips!!! So fresh and tasty!!!

If I could give Whale's Tale Fish House 10 stars, I would just for customer service, and again, thank you for your help!!
I had to feed a diabetic ASAP. I asked the server what was the fastest protein appetizer she could get to our table, and within minutes, she delivered a huge basket of fried clams. She got us a sweet tea under a minute, too. Once everyone was settled down, we put in our dinner order of clam chowder, house salid, and Philly cheese streak. Everything was fresh, pipping hot and delicious. We were visiting the area for th weekend and will be back next time we are in the area!

Food is excellent. My husband and I had the catfish baskets. Service was awesome and the food came out quick. One of the best fish restaurants around. I will definitely be coming back.

I looooove this little gem restaurant for fried clams and comfort foods. Absolutely the best fried clams I've ever had. The breading used is a perfect balance and cooked perfectly so they are crispy and tender, they are not soggy or chewy or dry at all...just perfect! Even simple sides like fries, slaw, and beans are fresh and delicious. Prices and portions are reasonable considering you can pay similar prices for much lower quality food. Around $40 for 3 people and we were all full and satisfied. Food is served quickly and service is always incredibly friendly and helpful. I like the atmosphere because it brings a nostalgic old school feel of my childhood, nothing fancy, but it's comfortable cozy and clean. Highly recommend checking it out.

Fabulous food, atmosphere and service. The people are very kind and very friendly. My wife had a Single Seafood Platter that was superb. Fish cooked perfectly! Hush Puppies! Slaw! I had a Triple, Blackened. Two kinds of fish done perfectly, Shrimp that was great, Cheese Grits, Greens, Taters, All Perfect! Our first visit and we love it!
