My first takeout from California Pizza Kitchen at Waterside Shops was unfortunately an extremely overall disappointing experience. The pizza was cold and appeared to have been sitting for a long time. I ordered at 4:09PM, picked up at 4:22PM, it should not have been cold if it was freshly made. The crust was tough and hard to chew, making it essentially inedible – we ended up throwing it away.The Chicken Piccata was delivered warm and seemed freshly prepared, but the chicken itself was overcooked and chewy, although the pasta was cooked well. On a positive note, the Salmon Piccata was excellent: served warm, perfectly cooked, and very flavorful. Out of the three dishes we ordered, one was great. While I appreciate the one standout item, the inconsistencies with the others were very disappointing. Based on this experience, I’m hesitant to order takeout from this location again. The pick up counter service was excellent and perhaps in restaurant dining is much better than take out dining.
Looking at reviews after my experience it appears take-out orders are hit or miss, and CPC responses are the same verbiage.

Ordered the new addition to the menu of krispy chicken dumpling salad. The dumplings were fried so many times over, I could hardly bite into them. The salad was just like a coleslaw with a spicy dressing. I spoke to the manager but he did nothing. I live here all year around but will not go back to this restaurant. It’s no surprise it was nearly empty at 5:30. Especially when there’s a function at Artis Naples.

The old woman at the pickup area was super condescending and had the comprehension of a goldfish. Did not know what was going on or what planet she was on. I’m surprised she remembered to breathe. Will never be back until she’s fired.

More servers than patrons… and suddenly it all makes sense. The service was so slow I started to wonder if my glass of wine was being harvested, crushed, fermented, and bottled somewhere in Napa before delivery. It finally showed up 20 minutes later—warm welcome not included. My server vanished like a magician’s final trick and never reappeared.
Plenty of empty tables, and I now fully understand why. Won’t be back.

Everytime we come to Naples we come here first. The food is always fresh and they accommodate the menu to your liking. I am a Cesar salad guy. It’s served very cold which is the correct way and it’s awesome. Huge croutons and large slabs of cheese. Main dishes are fantastic and the desserts are always fresh and top notch. Wait staff is over the top. Always clean restrooms and fresh hot bread. Two things I always look for. Usually have Jose who is awesome. New guy James last night. Very attentive and great personality
