Fernandez the Bull Cuban Cafe & Bar - Midtown

I have always loved this restaurant and used to eat here when it was on Airport Road. I recently moved back to the area and took my husband for the first time. The Cuban sandwiches were even better than I remember. We also had spicy margaritas and they were fantastic. Service was great. I’m so glad we decided to stop in on a whim today!

Great service and ambience, good happy hour drink prices. But if you’re a tamale fan, do NOT order one. Mostly corn meal and ham instead of pulled pork.

I wouldn't return to this place. The food was good except for one fish that we returned because of the strange smell it had. As for the service, not all of them, but there was a boy whose manner and expressions were not that of good customer service, quite rude I could say. In short, I would choose other places when I want to eat Cuban food

Warning, do not waste your money and your time eating here old and reheated food, burnt ripe bananas, the portion is small as if it were a newborn child's, the waiters speak to you in English and in English they do not even know how to say good morning, Heart the only thing I liked about the place is the jupiña and the materba in a summary the place is disgusting ? don't waste your money…..worst place ever!!!!!

We could only find this restaurant open on a Sunday. We were hopeful. My chicken was boring sitting on plain white rice, dry and flavorless. My husband had the greasiest red stew that was supposed to contain beef but it was difficult to find any. To top it off the cost was ridiculous.
Make sure you have groceries at home on Sundays.

Very friendly and attentive service. The mojito and caipirinha cocktails were excellent. But the real star was the food. Everything was soooo delicious! The masitas de puerco (fried pork chunks) were crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. The churrasco (skirt steak) was tender and flavorful and cooked perfectly, as was the chicken churrasco. The side dishes were also wonderful. Generous portions, we ended up taking home leftovers. Fun, lively atmosphere, but perhaps a bit cramped. Highly recommended.

When we first came in they sat us down and there were about 4-5 girls behind the bar including the manager. After they took our order, they proceeded to talk about previous clients very loudly saying that they were cheap and that they said they weren’t going to come back. They were very close to where we were seated and continued the whole time we were there making fun of clients and talking loudly about private matters. Another thing was that some items like the churrasco steak don't have prices. It was a small piece of skirt steak and it ended up being $38, which seemed excessive for the amount of food given. The food wasn’t bad but the worst part was the waitresses and manager bickering between each other and yelling about the clients right there the whole time. It made the dinner not enjoyable.

Only a person who doesn’t know what real "Cuban food" is, would be able to enjoy dinner at this place, very low quality food and the place looks like a mediocre paladar in Cuba. Depressing atmosphere.
The restaurant closes at 10pm and since we got there at 9pm, the only thing we can hear is the waitresses letting the people know that they close at 10pm so we can feel the rush.
The Fernandez salad was disgusting, the pulled pork in the salad was very salty and vegetables were watery.
The Tres leche was disgusting, they have no idea what a Tres leche is, we couldn't eat it.
Never coming back to this place.

I just received my food from DoorDash. This was the worst Pork dish I ever had Looks like they just boiled my pork and threw it on a bed of rice no onions, no flavor. It was terrible. I've lived in Miami and I'm Cuban and I am disappointed to say that this is the worst Cuban food I've ever had .
If you were in Miami, you'd be shut down there. Nobody would come to your restaurant. This is what happens when people open up restaurants and they get lazy.
