I give this this place a five for lunch stop. Visiting State Parks and stopped for the Gator bites and fried Mushrooms, nice people and you can feel the local care with regulars stopping in during the day, busy at night as lot gets full. With night events hosted, looks like a good local bar. So do not be rude if you sit outside when they set up extra tables when the inside had nice tables inside, or complain because you took your kids to a bar, as I just wanted to try Gator Bites so I stopped by.

A local place where people seemed to know each other.
I asked for a MaiTai and the bar tender said she didn't even know what that was 😆
We had some appetizers and a screwdriver. Overall a nice place.

Typical American place. Huge counter, pool tables and staff asking every two minutes if you want to drink. People who drink to the limit... trashy but particular.

Very pleasant welcome. We randomly stopped for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Biker atmosphere with a gathering for 15-year-olds. Live music and bbq platter! We had a great time.

Not family-friendly. Was passing by after spending the day in the Everglades national Park and wanted to try some gator bites. Just me and my toddler walk in, there was no sign to seat yourself or wait to be seated so I was standing there looking around… the bartender, with a very rude attitude, asked me “can I help you with something?” Definitely not how you greet guests unless the goal is to make them feel unwelcome. Looked like she was nicer to her regulars at least. I sat down with my son and waited, she served others that sat down at the bar after me before even greeting us (I sat at a table). I ended up getting up and leaving.

My roommate and i actually had to debate how to rate this place. His point - if you rate a dive bar based on a very strong pour… it’s 5 stars for sure.He had me watch the bartender make his rum and coke… and yep - huge pour with just a splash of coke to change the color lol.If you base the rating on the food, i gave it 3 stars. The patty melt was standard fair but the jalapeño poppers were hand made and quite good except the peppers themselves were mild at best - which was disappointing. The gator bites were tender and soft - many times they are chewy… and the peel and eat shrimp were quite nice.So we compromised and gave it 4 stars LOL.val
