My wife, her girlfriend and my wife's aide had lunch there last week (3/22). When the server brought the food my wife's aide said that this wasn't what she ordered. Now she is Haitian so English is relatively new to her (and she has an accent) but everyone at the table agreed it wasn't what she ordered. The server said yes it is and stormed back to the cash register to retrieve the receipt, came over and threw it at her and continued to berate her in a voice loud enough that everyone in the restaurant could hear it. Everyone in the restaurant was clearly uncomfortable and dumbfounded. It was humiliating and unnecessary. This is our "neighborhood" coffee shop and we have literally been regulars there since it opened. We will no longer go there or recommend it to friends.

Yes it’s a-little small but that gives it more of that authentic French vibes of smaller quaint cafes. The food is very good and they had my favorite treat, affogato espresso.

Absolutely appalled by how entitled the rude the owner is. Extremely unkind and unfriendly. 100% NOT family friendly. I would advise not bringing any children into this establishment. The owner should actually be reported to the better business bureau on how she speaks to her customers.

My experience at Grain de Cafe was utterly disappointing and uncomfortable. While dining with my family, including a 3-year-old child, we were subjected to the owner, Anne, yelling and belittling us in front of the entire restaurant. It was not only embarrassing but completely uncalled for. Dining out should be a pleasant experience, but Anne's behavior made it anything but- if it wasn't for your customers you wouldn't be in business. It says a lot for the other waitstaff to come up multiple times and apologize for her behavior. I wouldn't recommend this establishment to anyone, and advise everyone to steer clear.

To the curry hair blonde lady, maybe French that I saw here on Sunday around 12:30 to 1pm. I sat across from you in a black jacket and have blonde/greyish hair. Seem like we had a connection. Post a reply here if you are interested in meeting so we can have coffee or breakfast here one day and get acquainted. Jack.

The experience here was fine - I will say the coffee was absolutely delicious. The place is extremely cramped, and obviously is packed on a Saturday morning - if it wasn't raining it would have been a bit better since we could sit outside. They shoved tables in next to stacks of old pillow cushions, pastry racks, etc. The girl who took our order at the register was nice - but literally everyone else was extremely rude to us. They messed up two of our orders, and then we're extremely rude about it when we just asked if they could bring us extra on the side (i.e we got an iced coffee with cream, they didn't put cream and when we asked if they could bring us some cream on the side they rolled their eyes). Otherwise, the food was just okay - I probably would have liked it better if I did takeout. I would go back for the coffee though.

This place is wonderful! I'm Filipino-American, my girlfriend is Greek-American, but we really appreciate what, we feel, is authentic French ambience. The lady who served us at the register (the owner?) was super nice and sweet. To me, it was a bonus that she had a French accent. She even made a little small talk about herself with my girlfriend, so that really gave us the 'warm-fuzzies'. We have patronized this place several times now, even though it's about an hour drive from our house, one-way. Do not expect low prices, but to my girlfriend and me, completely worth it! I tried eating breakfast here once, but this is not the place for me (for breakfast) since I'm a big eater.Parking: This cafe is among several merchants in a strip mall. Although this mall is right next to a very busy main road, probably excellent for the businesses here, we have never struggled with finding parking. Fortunately, my girlfriend and I, though somewhat old, do not have major mobility issues, so walking a hundred feet or so is not a big deal for us.
