We stumbled upon this place in Naples for a quick dinner. The service was friendly and fast, and the place is small with a few tables inside. My boyfriend had the blackened grouper taco and enjoyed it. I had the sautéed grouper with buerre blanc sauce; my dish was light and delicious yet very satisfying. I tried the clam chowder, and this too was really good. This was a great find.

If you’re in Naples and craving fresh seafood, Grouper & Chips is a must. This place might not look like much from the outside, but don’t let that fool you — the food is outstanding. I had the blackened grouper and crab cakes it was cooked to perfection: flaky, seasoned just right, and served hot. The fries were crispy, and the homemade tartar sauce was a great touch.
Small, no-frills interior with limited seating, but that just adds to the charm. Staff is friendly and efficient. They get busy during peak hours, but the food is worth waiting for.
Highly recommend if you’re looking for authentic, well-prepared local seafood without the tourist trap feel. Will definitely be back.

A piece of plastic found in the chowder. Batter fried shrimp - tasted like it was fried earlier then refried. Shrimp was dry! French fries not crispy like not cooked enough! Very casual dining. 10 small tables for 4! Quiet place. Fried grouper was an 8. Will not go back. Didn’t even deduct tge soup with tge piece if plastic. Wine selection limited to 2 brands unknown. $100 wasted!

Place was filthy!!! Middle of afternoon so only two tables but the three waitstaff were so Loud. They were hanging out at a table talking extremely loud. French fries cheapest ever. Coleslaw meh… not quite sure how this restaurant has stayed in business as it does not meet any standard of cleanliness or professional service

I had an excellent Grouper plate in a small family owned restaurant. Definitely worth going to.
Had a delicious lunch special yesterday with an old friend. It was the daily special, Blackened Snapper over linguine with vegetables and a tasty red sauce. Spectacular!

I've been coming here for years — over two decades living in Naples — and the food has always been consistently excellent. The fried grouper is my go-to and is absolutely delicious every time. In my opinion, they also serve the best clam chowder in town.
Where things can be hit or miss, however, is the service. On my most recent visit, the lady at the counter was welcoming and kind, but the older lady serving tables that Friday evening in April was unfortunately not hospitable at all. She barely attended to our table and didn’t create a welcoming environment. Maybe it was just her off night, but it stood out enough to mention.
Bottom line: if you’re looking for consistently great food and are willing to roll the dice a bit on the friendliness of the service, this place is absolutely still worth visiting for the food alone.

Great food huge portions and fabulous service. Little hole in the wall with big great food. Soups were fabulous and awesome blackened grouper salad.
