I walked up to check if the business was open since the online hours listed that it was. The parking lot was blocked off, so I wasn’t certain. As I approached, several workers made loud and rude remarks to each other about how I “should have known and can’t I tell or catch a hint” they weren’t open, instead of simply letting me know politely. I left very disappointed by the unprofessional behavior.

We will be back! My husband and I sat on the patio, enjoyed the views of the marina, and listened to the island music playing in the background. Nick was our waiter and had the perfect island vibe: friendly, constantly smiling, and a chill approach. Just the kind of service you want at Island Gypsy, no fuss, like talking to a friend.

We started our lunch with the calamari, which we recommend. Our main meals were a seafood platter and a lobster roll. Although I hoped for a warm lobster roll, the flavor and portion didn't disappoint! The espresso mudslide was good, but hands down, the crazy Cuban rum drink was one of the best I've ever had! There are so many menu options that we wanted to try, so our next visit to Isles of Capri will certainly include another trip to Island Gypsy.

Absolutely delicious and their desserts are to die for.

Absolutely amazing food and the atmosphere was perfect on our vacation. Everyone was so polite and welcoming. The coconut curry chicken was amazing and the carrot cake was devine. Our waitress was so nice and very attentive. We will definitely return if we vacation here again!

Started with onion rings and smoked fish dip. Stellar. Best onion rings ever. Batter and seasoning perfect.

FANTASTIC FOOD, SERVICE and LOCATION. If I could give this ten stars I would. I’m a huge foodie and can always find something I don’t like about a restaurant (just like any other person). I Have zero complaints about their food/service. The onion rings, blackened grouper sandwich as well as the smoked Cuban sandwich are a must try! I mean if you really really really…..love great food, you HAVE to try this establishment. WHY ARE YOU STILL READING THIS REVIEW AND NOT GOING TO Island Gypsy Cafe & Marina Bar! This is one of the best restaurants in the area! We were staying on Marco island and this place was recommended to us by our kayaking tour guide. To say it exceeded our expectations is an understatement! The onion rings were the best I have ever had and the blackened grouper sandwich was seasoned to perfection. So not skip this place! From the excellent and prompt service, to the wonderfully scenic location, this is the most perfect lunch spot in southwestern Florida! They deserve all the recognition.

It was dark when we were there so we couldn't see the water but I'm sure the location was great. We had 11 people and our server didn't miss a beat. We got the same prompt service as if we were only a table of four. All of the food and drinks were superb. Cost was very reasonable for that venue.
