I've been to this location several times and do not plan on returning any time soon. When they first opened, the roast beef was amazing, but there was a very noticeable decline over the following months, and with each visit I especially noticed the quality of the beef decline.

The steak and cheese is basically a Philly cheesesteak. Nonetheless the best I’ve had in Naples. Better than cheesesteak.com at least.

Kelly’s Roast Beef: Where Your Wallet Wins, but Your Taste Buds Lose

So, I saw this new spot called Kelly’s Roast Beef in Naples, and they were flaunting a $5.55 value meal. I thought, “Wow, what a steal!” Little did I know, the only thing being robbed was my hope for a decent meal.

I ordered the small fish sandwich, fully expecting it to be, well… small. But nothing could prepare me for the taste of this tiny tragedy. Imagine eating a fish stick straight from the freezer aisle of 1993. That’s what it felt like. The fries? They looked promising—golden, crispy, delicious. Then I took a bite and thought, “Did these potatoes just roll out of a time machine?” Stale and sad doesn’t even begin to cover it.

But let me tell you about the real star of the show: the Smashburger. Now, with a name like that, I was hopeful. But what we got was a burger with nothing on it—just meat and bread. No ketchup, no mustard, not even a sad little pickle. It’s like they put the “smash” in Smashburger by smashing all the flavor right out. And those buns? One side was so hard it could’ve doubled as a doorstop, and the other side was squished flat, like it had been sat on. Truly a textural journey for the senses—none of them pleasant.

And speaking of smashed, let’s talk about that Coke. Advertised as 16 ounces, but the only thing smashed was how on earth they managed to fit it into a 12-ounce cup filled with ice. It’s like they were attempting some kind of soda sorcery, but the only trick was on me.

On the bright side, now I can proudly say I’ve tried Kelly’s—and I’ll never have to worry about accidentally wandering back inside. At least the $5.55 stayed consistent: it bought me a valuable life lesson I won’t soon forget.

We had the best experience everyone was so friendly and the food was delicious the beef cut thin and juicy the place was cleaned. Stopped by on my way back from Naples. Marcia at the counter was very friendly and informative. We got the original roast sandwiches which were cooked to perfection and tender. Onion rings and fries were hot and fresh. I would highly recommend stopping by for the best roast beef around!

I have been going to this location since it has opened and have always been very excited to have one of their "3 way" sandwich combos for lunch. Throughout the first few months of this location being in service, the beef was always tender, sliced thin, and cooked to perfection. The fries were always crispy and well seasoned. During these times I would have rated the location a 5 out of 5.

Unfortunately, I have noticed lately that the consistency and quality of my favorite sandwich has really gone down the tubes. No longer is the beef consistently sliced. On more than one occasion I have received large thick cuts of beef cooked well done, right in the middle of the sandwich. When I removed it, it ended up being nearly half the meat on the bun. I gave them another shot today, and had a similar experience, not to mention that the beef was incredibly overcooked. It's almost as if they pre-made a bunch of sandwiches expecting a lunch rush. I think I will take some time between now and a return trip, or maybe check out the fort myers location. Perhaps there was a change in management, or they are experiencing the same difficulty finding good employees as every other business. Either way, it's a shame I can no longer get this fantastic sandwich.

Of the 3 times I visited, I only had the opportunity to try the food once. It was in line with Arby's. Unfortunately the other 2 times I was ignored in the drive thru for several minutes before I drove off. Three strikes and you're out! Save time and drive past this place.
