"Restaurant or horror movie?" After an amazing day in Naples — beach, sunset over the ocean — we thought topping it off with a nice dinner would be the cherry on the cake. Little did we know we were heading into a gastronomic massacre at L'Olivo Ristorante. There were 12 of us, family and friends, and the adventure started strong: they refused to join our tables and split us up like strangers at a weird cult meeting. Our waitress, a sort of caveman woman reincarnated into the 21st century, brought us the menus with the same enthusiasm as someone hauling cement bags. After what felt like ages waiting for drinks and service, we finally managed to order (with the warning that splitting the check would apparently require a Ph.D. in quantum physics). Those who ordered pizza got lucky. The brave souls who dared order pasta or steak... well, let's just say I’ve chewed flip-flops softer than that steak. We tried getting the attention of our charming troglodyte to fix the situation, but she, between one sigh of disdain and another, informed us that if the meat was tough, it was our fault — "you chose the cheapest dish," she said. Unreal. The grand finale came with the check: a 20% gratuity automatically added (for a service that barely existed!). When we questioned it, the manager — who looked like a low-budget version of the Addams Family matriarch — fiercely defended the waitress. Plot twist: turns out they’re all family, including the "chef" responsible for the fossilized meat. In the end, we were invited never to come back — and we gladly accepted the invitation! Bottom line: If you’re looking to turn a magical evening into a nightmare worthy of a trashy reality show, L'Olivo is your spot. Otherwise, protect your good mood, your dignity, and your molars. Run.
Avoid at all costs. After a beautiful day in Naples, we ended up in a nightmare at L'Olivo. They refused to seat our group together, the waitress looked like she hated life (and us), and after endless waiting, the food arrived: pizzas were decent, everything else was tragic — steak tougher than old boots and pasta with no flavor. When we complained, the staff (all family, apparently) defended the disaster and added a 20% tip to our check anyway. We were told never to come back — best advice they ever gave us. Save your time, money, and sanity. Run.🏃
Unacceptable experience! The food was of terrible quality, the environment was extremely unpleasant, and the service was simply disgraceful. We have never been so disrespected at any establishment. Given the neglect and lack of professionalism, we refused to pay the tip. The situation turned into a real nightmare: the staff, who all appeared to be from the same family, not only insulted us but also disrespected our daughters. This is by far the worst place we have ever visited. I strongly advise everyone to stay away from this establishment at all costs.
It was an amazing experience. Our waiter, Thomas was top notch!

Was very disappointed with our experience at this restaurant. Meals were overpriced and the meatballs were over done. Drinks were extremely expensive and not worth the price. Thought we would have enjoyed ourselves but will not be going back.
One of the worst experiences! It takes a lot for me to write a bad review, but this place made it easy. There were three tables already seated and appeared to be served when we arrived. Our waiter was disinterested in service once he took the order. After waiting 10 minutes he came back to tell us the soup was not in minestrone but some mushroom soup, so my husband cancelled the soup order. So we were now waiting for 3 pizzas, two came after about 20 minutes. We waited for the third pizza, but finally started eating and asked the waiter, he said the kitchen missed it on the ticket, but it was coming right out. He never came back to the table, never offered drink refills, (we were drinking sodas), a few other meals were delivered. The kicker was 2 pepperoni pizzas went to one table and ours still had not arrived!!!! Three of us had completely finished our meal, still no pizza. It finally arrived close to an hour after ordering, two of us had already left. We asked for the check, still no apology, no discount for the pizza that my husband had to eat alone, and the $14 soup was still on the check! The food was very bland, but edible, not what you expect for an Italian restaurant on 5th Ave in Naples. If an ounce of effort had been made (refresh sodas while we were waiting, or take the pizza of the tab, or even a simple apology) I would not have written this review. Very poor customer service.

The food is good, but they charge too much for children's meals. My husband had a glass of wine and was charged $17.00 which was too much.

shorted us at payment and wouldn't give us money back or fix the problem. owner was very rude
Food and service were good. Unfortunately, the website on OpenTable stated that a a reservation was need for the Happy Hour. When we arrived our server indicated there was no Happy Hour. A slight disappointment.
Had the best experience ever! Came here with my parents and we felt like we were in Italy! The food was absolutely delicious and Napoleone our waiter was excellent! I highly recommend the tiramisu because it was the best one I have had in my life! If i lived in Naples I would make it a tradition to come here once a week :)

Went there with 12 people, 3 were kids under 10. First people to arrive were told couldn’t be seated until everyone showed up. They wanted to order something to start with. They finally agreed to seat them. Things went ok for a bit. Told our server we needed separate checks and was told don’t worry will take care of it in the end. After eating and some still ordering beverages we were told by our server there was a 2 hour time limit and we had to go! I have been in the biz for 48 yrs and never would do that to a customer! After making a complaint to the manager she said who told you that and I said our server. She said don’t worry sit down and relax. So wanting to order more, never saw our server again. Finally gave in and told the hostess to tell the server to get our checks. This now becomes a fiasco as everyone had to tell him what they had, and still got wrong things on tabs! Oh , before that the kids wanted water, which were never given any, only to be told by the server we are out of tap water but you can purchase a bottle of sparkling water! If you don’t have tap water how are out washing your hands! The food was ok but never have been treated so poorly and then a 20% tip was automatically added to the bill! Normally a bigger tipper then that with good service but would have left maybe 10%. They will never, ever get another cent from me or the party I was with. I was the one that suggested the place and was embarrassed that I did! Good riddance!

Worst restaurant on 5th and probably the worst restaurant I’ve been too. Out of coffee and out of bread. Ordered the beef minestrone soup, it had one little piece of beef. The green salad is overpriced for what you get. Service is horrible!!!! They don’t care if you don’t like the food or not. You’re better off going to McDonald’s.

Good food! poor service had to ask the server to come to us for refills etc. very high prices!! The cheapest thing was pizza for 18. All flavored drinks are 5 dollars as well! Would go back just for food.
Sorry- lovely setting, outdoor tables and umbrella's but food is mediocre. Service was excellent, prices lower than the rest of the restaurants on the strip but not great.
I recently dined at L'olivo Restaurant, and it was a fantastic experience! The cozy ambiance, with its rustic charm, set the perfect mood for a relaxing meal. Our server, Marina, was so welcoming and attentive, making sure we felt right at home throughout the evening. We started with Meatball and Octopus, which was fresh and flavorful. For the main course, the Fettuccine Alfredo was rich and creamy, with perfectly cooked pasta, while the Wood-Fired Margherita Pizza had a crispy crust and delicious toppings. Dessert was a delightful Tiramisu, light and perfectly balanced. The wine selection was excellent, and the Chianti paired wonderfully with our meal. Overall, an authentic and enjoyable Italian dining experience. Highly recommend!
