Absolutely recommend to everyone not just friends! Chad - Waiter was wonderful and super friendly, and Barbara (Barbie) was also very sweet and funny. We’ll be back again and we always go to the Le Colonial in Chicago! Loved the table ambiance and atmosphere!

It was a surprise and treat to learn that Le Colonial, formerly with a location in NYC on east 57 street, is in Naples. The food, atmosphere and service were all very enjoyable. Would happily return.

Absolutely perfect gals dinner on Super Bowl night. This is my mother in law’s favorite place and now I know why. Went with my bff and we had a wonderful meal. Everything was perfect - great service, relaxing and elegant atmosphere and delicious flavors.

This restaurant was one of our best experiences in a very long time. The food is creative flavorful unbelievable service it started with my Leche, Martini and then we had two entrées one was a beef salad incredible fillet flavorful juicy, the hot pot chicken was out of this world and we finished with the tapioca dessert along with a hot chocolate cake with ice ice cream. All of it was very handcrafted food unbelievable

First please know I do not write bad reviews even when deserved, but the dismissive attitude of management somehow compels me. They play a house music with a deep low frequency bass that those hard of hearing may find uncomfortable and interfere with conversation. When asked to lower the volume or play something else I was thanked and led to believe they would accommodate my request. Had they said we are so sorry but it is what it is I would have toughed it out. The music continued. Please understand that many people will not have this issue but such is life and at Le Colonial it will continue without me. FROM AI

What you wrote reads like it’s not just “the music was annoying.” It’s “I asked in good faith, was led to believe you’d help, and then nothing changed.” That combination hits a few very human pressure points at once:

1) The bass isn’t just sound — it’s physical

Deep low-frequency bass can feel invasive because it’s not only heard; it’s felt in your chest, head, and nervous system. For some people it ramps up stress, makes it harder to think, and makes conversation work feel exhausting. When that’s happening, it’s easy to feel trapped: you can’t “tune it out” the way you might with normal background noise.

2) You did the “polite adult thing,” and it didn’t work

You were reasonable and respectful: “Could you lower it or change it?”
And you got a social signal back that implied, “Yes, we’ll take care of you.”
When that doesn’t happen, it creates a particular kind of anger: not the anger of being told “no,” but the anger of being managed (placated) instead of helped.

3) The emotional sting is the mismatch between words and reality

If they’d said, “We can’t change it,” you could’ve made a clean choice: stay or leave.
But being thanked and then ignored feels like a soft form of disrespect—because it turns your request into something they performed listening to rather than actually responding to.

That’s why you’re compelled to write the review even though you don’t usually: it feels like the only remaining way to restore fairness and dignity to the exchange.

4) There’s also a values piece: “I’m not a complainer”

You’re someone who tolerates a lot and avoids harming businesses publicly. So when you do feel pushed to speak up, it’s often because a line got crossed—usually around honesty, consideration, or basic courtesy. In other words, you’re not reacting to discomfort alone; you’re reacting to being dismissed.

5) Your brain is trying to prevent a repeat

A review isn’t only punishment. It’s also your mind saying:

“I don’t want to be stuck in that situation again.”

“If I warn future-me (and others), I regain control.”

We came to celebrate my birthday. I called earlier that evening to reconfirm the reservation since I didn't get a reminder from the restaurant itself. It's on that call that I also reminded that it was a birthday celebration. We arrived promptly for an already late time dining at 8:30, only not to be greeted by anyone at the restaurant. There were 0 hostess. We were standing at the entrance hoping someone would check on us. About 5-10 mins later, a gentleman from the restaurant checked us in and left. Once again, left just standing and waiting. Not the experience I was hoping for. We got seated about 30 mins late. So, this is 9 pm now. The service was pretty average, no extra attention, no mention of birthday from the waiter, no talk about the dishes, the menu. The drinks were good. All the appetizers came out rather quickly which makes me think none were prepared to order. The mains were pretty average, and the duck was not satisfactory. My 12 year old went to inform the waiter about my birthday so they would put the candle in the cake. Again, something that the restaurant was notified when making the reservation and when I called that evening. My birthday dessert choice was covered by the restaurant, and we had an additional $58 dollars subtracted from the total bill because of the initial wait. This was appreciated, but I would much rather be seated or invited to a bar for a drink instead of getting $10 per person for this lack of attention and organization. Overall, I was not impressed with the restaurant, which was unfortunate, since this was my birthday celebration. This was our second time, and the first time was phenomenal which is why I wanted to come back again.

Here for diner and have not eaten yet. The 4 of us went into the bar for a pre dinner drink. We ordered a Stella, a rusty nail, an aperol spritz and a dark rum and coke with lemon from a waitress that barely spoke English. Result no Stella, no rusty nail a great approach and a very strong rum and coke with lime. We asked her to take the rum drink back and put in a taller glass with more coke and add lemon She returned with the same glass but the drink was weaker.. what a train wreck.. ok so i conveyed our experience to the floor manager as we moved to the dining room. He went across the street and brought back a Stella and the dining room bar made a spectacular rusty nail and he totally rescued the experience, the food was outstanding. We will ba back
