I had the daily special, there's a different one each day.
Can't see how you can go wrong. It's a diner they have everything!

Waiter was great. Service was fast, but food was crap! Chicken strips were so dry almost choked to death. Fries were obviously reheated. Cole slaw was bland. Dont waste your time or money and go anywhere else. Very disappointed as we were excited about how cute it was. 0/10.

Best steak and lobster ever
The food is typical east coast diner fare, but is very good for what it is. Likewise, the gruff, not-too-efficient-but-well-meaning service would be right at home in New Jersey. The space itself is unremarkable but serviceable. it does get noisy on occasion, however.

Recommended by clerk at hotel after we arrived hungry from a two and one half hour drive. It had a super varied menu. A lot of nostalgia. The Mel's catch was so good as a dinner that I requested a second portion of the blackened fish to savor more. My wife truly enjoyed her hamburger and had a nostalgic ice cream float just because.

Great food and great portions, but you have to overlook the filthy carpeting and restrooms.

Run down inside. Food was ok. Nothing special or great about it. Lacking would be a good description, sadly.

My mom went in yesterday after church, and was completely humiliated by her server, Anthony. He told her she was being complicated by what she ordered, which was a Greek salad with dressing on the side, half a chicken salad sandwich without bread, and an order of pita bread on the side. Upon receiving her check, she questioned the price of the sandwich, to make sure she wasn’t being charged for a whole sandwich. Anthony proceeds to pull his wallet out of his pocket and smacks 3 - 1 dollar bills down on her table and says to put this toward her check. She picked the money up and threw it back at him and told him she did not want his money. The manager overheard the whole interaction and told her that this server gets great reviews. She let the manager know that she has never been treated so poorly in her life, and that she would never return to that Mel’s again!

Tons of breakfast options. It was Sunday morning and they seemed to be understaffed leading to a lack of follow through, when refills were desired, or additional requests were made. This time, one of us ordered a fruit bowl type of side, which was not fresh, but the rest of us were satisfied with our meals.

Very expensive and the grits is not that good. If you have a to go order check before leaving, they have a tendency to forget parts of the order.
