Sam Snead is back. Last night's dinner was relaxed with wonderful table service (Aldo was a great server), delicious three course dinner on the Sizzle Menu including salad with honey mustard dressing, prime rib with smashed potatoes and mixed veggies, and a decadent chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream. Kudos to your turn around. We will return.

We sat in the bar tables and there was only one waiter in this area, the bartender. He was overwhelmed so this is the Managers fault. We ordered the salmon and the short rib. We also had a salad just prior. The salad was really good and fresh. When the food came out it was wrong. It was a slab of ribs instead of the salmon. They brought it back. My husband and I ate all of my entree. Then the bartender brought the fish and a to-go container. I said no we don't want to take that home. We don't eat leftover fish, ever. I said we don't want this anymore. No apology or explanation given. It was taken off the bill but it ruined the experience.

We love the new additions to the menu. Sea bass was fabulous!! Hope it stays in the menu !

My husband and I enjoyed a casual dinner at Sam Snead's, and we were not disappointed in the food or the service. It was nice to be greeted by the familiar faces we have come to know over the years. The new menu has something for everyone. The only thing missing is Happy Hour til 7 in the dining room. It would be nice to have that back. Until then, I think we're lucky to have such a nice restaurant as part of the Lely Community.

Unfortunately, the salad does not come with the entrée and they have now done away with the grapefruit salad dressing, which was delicious. The menu is basically cut in half and the house wine was very bland.

I have been to Sam Snead's on many occasions and my experience there last evening just might be my last. We know it's off season and the level of service is not going to be the same but it was simply terrible. We stood at the host station waiting to be seated with bus boys yelling “Aldo!, Aldo!” “People!” Just To have us seated. Once we were seated I noticed food all over the floor of bar area and under our table. Bar staff was wiping bottles and on their phones. We ordered- I ordered the French onion soup and a salad and my husband ordered the chili and a wedge. My soup was not edible. The level of salt was disgusting and I sent it back. My husband's chili was tiny and he asked if he got the large bowl. Apparently he had. Not sure what size the small would have been, we made jokes that maybe it was a ramekin. The wedge salad was laughable and he had to search for a server to give him more blue cheese dressing as our server was missing for about 15 minutes. Overall I can't even give a rating because I'm bothered that we paid for that experience. So sad to see such a pretty place become one of our don't go to places.

Not enough wait staff. Very few people there when we went...with a reservation we waited 10 minutes to be shown to a table and we were, at that time, the only occupied table in the dining room! The food was good...not great. I miss the ambiance and food of the old Sam Sneads, which this place can't come close to matching.

We have dined at Sam Sneads many times over the years. When I arrived with my family,I was informed there was a new menu. We have always been able to ask for the lunch menu in addition to the dinner menu, since some items were not available on both. We were told this is no longer an option. In addition the new dinner menu now had in my opinion limited selections missing many favorites. The new prices were in our opinion way over the top for what we were served. The waiter tried to explain to us the rational for the changes, but Sams is not worthy of their new prices. We have no intention of returning to what we considered a "GO TO " restaurant.

We were so disappointed to see that the entire menu, along with the time and location for happy hour, have changed, from 2-7 to 3-6 and only in the bar area. Many of our favorites, including the chips with guacamole and the oak grilled chicken are no longer on the menu. This restaurant has been one of our go-to's for the last several years. That said, our server, Austin, was excellent!

Sam Snead's is always a great place to go to for good food and great ambience. This evening did not disappoint. In fact, it was especially enjoyable with our server, Aldo. He is a gem, added to the class of the restaurant. Our food was cooked well and hot when it arrived, which doesn't always happen elsewhere. One of our diners had food allergies and Aldo made sure the diner was attended to expertly! We thank him and the chef for that. Great evening. Thank you, as always, we will be back!

Another wonderful time at Sam Snead's! We were a party of 5 and four of us had the Fish and Chips. They were excellent! I've tried F&C's many places in SWFL and Sam's are the best I've had. The other member of our party had the Cheeseburger and said it was great! We always look forward to returning. It's a lovely venue with great golf course views and consistently wonderful food and service. Ask for either Mandy or Aldo for a wonderful service experience.

We had a large group (14) and the kitchen did a great job of getting everyone's food out at the same time, well prepared and hot. Kudos. Disappointed that the restaurant (like many others) has added a 3% service charge to use a credit card in addition to menu price increases. Not sure but I don't think it costs restaurants 3% to process visa and Mastercard payments so seems like they're taking advantage of their customers. Will just have to carry more cash these days I guess.

3 of us had Chicken Madeira and the flavor was great as usual but the chicken was tough and chewy. Even hard to cut . Usually good but not this night. Sorry

This is a very good place to go. The food is always good and not overly expensive. The help are so good and nice. Need reservations though.

We ate outside so noise level was very low. Food was good served by an excellent waitress. Eating outside we overlooked the golf course which was very agreeable. Good value. There were options on the menu that were fairly priced. We will eat here again.
