My husband and I stopped by Steak 'n Shake for a quick lunch date. Weâve always enjoyed the food, but unfortunately, the service at this location continues to be a major issue.
We planned to eat in our car since we've had poor experiences with the staff before. This visit wasnât any better. The fries were just tossed carelessly into the bag, and they forgot the cup of cheese I paid for. When I went inside to ask for it, the employees were laughing, gave me attitude, and acted like I was an inconvenience.
I ordered a cotton candy shake with no cherry, but they also left off the whipped cream â which is supposed to be included unless you ask otherwise. When I asked for it, I was met with more attitude. That said, the shake itself was really good â definitely a highlight of the meal.
Sadly, this isnât a one-time issue. On a previous visit with my family, they forgot one of our fries and insisted we hadnât ordered it until I showed the receipt. Then they handed it to me with more attitude. I also asked for BBQ sauce for my burger and got ketchup instead.
The food itself is usually good â thatâs the only reason weâve continued giving them chances. But the customer service is consistently unprofessional and disrespectful. Honestly, itâs no surprise that this location is almost always empty. There are rarely more than one or two tables with customers every time we go, and with the way the staff treats people, itâs easy to see why.
Steak 'n Shake really needs to address the management and staffing at this location. Customers deserve better.

American restaurant with good atmosphere. I was disappointed when they removed the Royale hamburger from the menu so I stopped coming. I went back this week but that one is not on the menu. The restaurant looks better than a couple of years ago, seats and tables have been renovated but the restroom needs attention. Hamburgers and fries a too salty for my taste. Service is good.

TLDR: all steaks no shakes.
Came at 9:55. They close at 12. They pull a mcDs on me: They didn't have shakes. That's what I came for. I asked if they would have shakes later (I'll wait for a shake, no problem). They say they didn't get shipment. That's not the workers fault. Ok, fine I get a coke. It was so full the lid had coke on it and spilled on the inside of the door as he was passing it. Burger was good. Got a number 6 BBQ bacon. Greasy but neatly wrapped. Cheese fries were okay too, the fries are the thin crispy kind. Cheese comes in a little cup. Overall a disappointing experience. Really wanted 2 banana strawberry shakes.

Awful experience, too upgraded. This place has gone down hill in the past 5 years. âServerâ brought my food and tray out and slid it onto my table and half the fries from my basket fell out. Also nearly knocking my drink over. She said a quick soft âsorryâ and walked away. Burger had a pound of garlic butter melted ontop of the bun. Went to throw our food away and a different server asked us to wipe down our table. Will never be returning. Only thing decent about this place are the milk shakes

Went through the drive-through twice waited 15 minutes and they never came. I went around went inside and the girl was talking on her phone ignored me. I ordered on the kiosk and she still continued not to cook my food. This is no sheâs the only one in here I guess so. I donât know if you have short staff or what but this is ridiculous

I ordered a number 7 with no onion. Waited 20 minutes for my food. Drove off, and when I went to eat, noticed onions on my burger. And not a little bit, looked like extra onion was added. How hard is it to NOT add an item that normally comes on the burger? Thatâs less work.
My grandson asked for BBQ sauce to go with the chicken tenders he ordered They charged him $1.06 for a little packet of BBQ Excuse me??? We won't be back
