The Grille At Riverview

Ordered the fish and chips, which at first looked like a big piece of fish turned out to be a big chunk of bread with a little bit of fish. The others in our group were disappointed with the bland flavor of their food. Won’t go back again!

Reservation was for Valentine’s Day dinner so my wife and I figured The Grille at Riverview would be a great choice for a nice meal…but what a disappointment. The menu was a special one for Valentine’s Day (wish they had told me that when I made the reservation) and I have to believe the prices were jacked up given the occasion because I don’t remember them being that high in the past but I guess no surprise there. If those were the only issues I wouldn’t be posting this review, however, the experience didn’t impress once we sat down. My wife and I decided to split a wedge salad so you would think the kitchen would have prepared two plates but we were served one salad and an empty plate so that I had to cut and divide it up at the table; a little bit messy given the type of salad. Then the entree was served…not cold but almost…and I can’t say it was a particularly tender piece of meat. Mashed potatoes were served on the side but they sure looked and tasted a lot like Bob Evan’s, which I don’t mind, but not in this situation. And the portion sizes, in general, were on the small side. Had the (high) price been in line with a superior meal I wouldn’t feel compelled to write this review but my expectations were far from being met, i.e. the combination of premium prices and sub-par food quality just doesn’t cut it for me. Never again.

Our experience at the Grille are consistently good. They have a nice variety on the menu and have enjoyed everything I tried. Last night was the chicken Alfredo which didn't disappoint. The live music was good and our view over the water was great. Even the dolphins came by. It's a little loud on the deck if you're near the musician but there are places you can get away and still enjoy the river views.

Had the pleasure of attending a seminar here last night….always hesitant to go but thought we attend the seminar and was treated to a complimentary meal. WOW! it was delicious! now, usually when you go to these types of things they give you the bottom of the barrel stuff, and not much to choose from but this was impeccable, beautiful, delicious, and we will definitely be returning on a regular basis! Well done!

Kyle was our waiter and he was so knowledgeable and friendly. He was a phenomenal waiter. Kudos for hiring such a fine young man!
