Jimmy Hula's New Smyrna Beach

We came on July 26th, arrived with over one hr before closing. The waitress said they were closing early because they were busy during the day and didnt want to take any more orders. At first we thought they were joking because literally only 4 people were sitting there eating. Staff were telling other guests that were arriving that they were closing early. I'm sure the owner would not appreciate that they were telling guests they were closing early with over a hr before the closing time. We drove 25 minutes to come eat here and will be the last time. We walked around the corner to eat at Yellow Dog. This place might need new management based on other recent reviews.

The good is fairly good. My biggest pet peeve is that the food is not brought out all together. The last time we went, there was 2 of us- the dishes were brought out 4 minutes apart. So the person who got their food first had to either be rude & start eating, or wait while their food gets cold. This has happened to us 3x now, so it's not just a fluke. Not sure if we'll be back.

This was my first time at this location and it will definitely be my last. Went on a Saturday night and it was dead but they were out of everything. And I do mean almost everything (beers, queso, RICE, pineapple, and more).

My group of 7 ordered what we could and waited. And waited. And waited. Finally our fries and my tacos came out, but the rest of the orders were no where in sight. I didn’t realize tacos were considered an appetizer. But the food that did come out was over cooked and not good.

We talked to the kitchen manager and he was just some kid who probably had no power over what was happening, but got our refund for the food that we didn’t get. The service was good, we definitely did not chew out the servers or even the kitchen manager, but whoever is in charge of this place and does the ordering probably shouldn’t be in this line of work, because they did a poor job. How are you going to be out of almost all your stock on what’s supposed to be a busy night?

Again, no fault on the servers as they were great and understanding of the situation, and the kitchen manager was nice and also understood but it was obvious they couldn’t do anything other than refund us.

We ended up going to HalfWall instead, which I can’t recommend enough. Save your time and skip this place. It’s not worth it for what it is.

This place is a mess. Ordered tacos with no shrimp as I am allergic and I got all shrimp tacos. The remaking of the meal literally took 30 minutes for 3 steak tacos while my other guests food got cold. Skip this place.

We went to Jimmy Hula’s after our escape room tonight and will not be back. The guy making our food stopped mid-prep to tie up his dreadlocks — with the same gloves on — and then went right back to touching our food. No handwashing, no glove change, nothing. On top of that, he kept using a dirty rag to wipe things down in between waiting for food to cook, still never changing his gloves before handling our order. Absolutely disgusting and a huge health code violation. I lost my appetite immediately. If this is how they handle food in plain view of customers, I don’t even want to imagine what goes on in the back. Thankfully the manager handled our request for a refund respectfully and was apologetic of the situation.

Good!! I like the tacos and beer. But the burgers and bowls are good too

We got the cookie dough flautas and they were to die for but the fries were soggy. But the wait is AWEFAL. for fries and the flautas we waited like 30 + minutes. Ridiculous.

One of our favorite spots in NSB! Great food and service every time and we love the live music!

Absolutely the best grilled chicken..,and that Lava sauce! Oh my! Made me want to get up and dance!

Best local burgers and tacos.

Management very dismissive of any negative feedback….ran out of champagne during the brunch with all you can drink mimosas…..nothing she can do about that….just don’t come back…..excellent suggestion….

Went in to order take out, the food was amazing as usual ?

This is basically a self service restaurant. I had the rice bowl with chicken the food was ok but the rice was completely overcooked and was mush.
