The Chalice off Canal

Ideal spot to seriously sample a wide variety of wines and varietals or less seriously to let your hair down providing Mark Venneri is entertaining at the keyboard ?.

Found Chalice through a friend. Delightful spot for wine and tapas. The caprese style tapa with olives was delicious as was the olives and chorizo. But fun,was Julia Childs chicken salad! Had a bottle of Rioja to wash all down . A nice surprise was the live music. Had an amazing saxophone player which just added to the relaxing atmosphere. Throughly enjoyed our evening.

Excellent wine bar! Nice people, well run. They had a lounge singer who is incredible. If they had a place for a baby grand piano it would have reminded my of some places in my distant past. Hats off to the owner!

Charming venue with wine and tapas. Very extensive wine selection with friendly and knowledgable manager. Beautiful private back porch and yard. Will visit again soon!

Great wine great music romance

I'm glad to see so many 5 star reviews. My wife and I have gone many times to another place in town where there's atmosphere and music, and we went to that other place on Friday night. But after one glass of wine there, we decided we should visit one or two new places. So we went to The Chalice and had no reason to go anywhere else. Everything about The Chalice is nice - the decor and furniture is delightful, the staff are all exceptionally welcoming chatty and knowledgeable, the owner Kim made us feel very welcome, the wines are priced reasonably, the food we sampled was delicious, and the music from a very talented solo, multi-instrument performer was captivating. There's plenty of parking and its a stone's throw from Canal and Hwy 1. We will be visiting The Chalice very often in the future. Nicely done Kim!

This delightful wine bar had a great selection of wine, an intimate feeling and great selection of nibbles to go with the wine. We will be back!

Amazing small plates. Been a couple time and have never been disappointed. I'm not a wine drinker but the wife says they have amazing wines and a huge selection. I drink the beer that they have. Owner is very knowledgeable. Service is quick and they have live entertainment all the time. Would highly recommend.
