We came on NSB Christmas Parade night so it was a little hectic. One of our orders got mixed up and cocktails took a long time to arrive. BLT dip was a hit .. sweet potato fries with cinnamon butter very good as were the Fat Fingers (Chicken Tenders). Truffle fries good as well as the Cobb Salad with Salmon. St. Louis ribs so so (but we are from St. Louis and so the bar is set pretty high) Mac & Cheese above average as were the seasonal veggies (green beans). Peanut Butter Pie excellent!

Really who could not have scored this place a five out of five?? Seriously yummy! Not sure what more could be said. Our service was excellent. The chef even came by asked us for our opinion and he even stayed long enough to listen!! He listened. That’s a big deal. We all ordered something different. We had three different appetizers plus our entrées and the pecan bourbon pie.

Walked in and were never greeted. A customer told us to sit anywhere. Our waitress was MIA and a very nice man with beautiful silver hair attended to us. He told us our waitress would be with us. She stopped at our table to check after we received our food and to pick up her check. The man should have gotten the tip not the waitress that was MIA. Very disappointed in our visit. I never leave poor reviews but management needs to step it up. Sorry, probably won't be back. This was our 4th visit and first bad visit.

Amazing food, warm service, and an atmosphere that hits the perfect balance of classy and comfortable. And the whiskey & wine lockers? Such a standout feature. It’s a brilliant touch — giving regulars a personalized space to store their favorite bottles and making every visit feel like a special occasion. Plus a monthly gift?! A true sign of how GPH takes care of its community. If you haven’t checked them out lately, it’s worth a visit! Girls night out, lunch, drinks or dinner- General Public House is raising the bar in all the right ways!

Food was not good. I ordered the crispy beer battered fish and it was greasy and not crispy, fries were under cooked. My husband ordered pulled pork (peril), just terrible. The rice was way undercooked.

The lollipop chicken after we ate it was raw in the middle. Very disappointing 😞

Food and service are outstanding. Just as everyone says. Problem in 2 areas. First, tables and benches are cleaned with a wet smelly rag so table and bench are sticky and have an odor. Then they don’t provide place mats so your utensils sit directly on the table. If you have an appetizer or salad, they don’t change the silverware. So now the utensils you ate with sit on the sticky smelly table and you are expected to re-use. If they can improve their operations in this particular areas the 5 star all the way. Again a pity because the location, food and service are all top!
