What an absolute gem of a restaurant! Tucked away on a side street in New Smyrna Beach, it's very quaint with great ambiance. They have a small parking lot adjacent to the building and parking along the street. I would highly recommend making a reservation. There is first come/first served bar seating, but the main dining room is small, which adds to the intimate dining experience. While we were there, every person who walked in had a reservation and the restaurant filled up pretty quickly. Our server was fantastic...attentive without hovering. She had great recommendations for the menu. The food was outstanding! Very tasty, good variety, and served nice and hot. For a fine dining experience close to the beach, I thought it was priced well. We had such an amazing experience and can't wait to go back!

I would not recommend!!! How an Italian restaurant can make the worst meatballs I've ever had. My gramma was not in this kitchen! When I express my opion in a very nice way,that the meatballs we not good! The waitress said: we are really busy and sometimes it happens. That was not exceptable. Your on vacation. Expecting a nice Italian meal . They could care less that a customer was not very happy. Very disappointing experience.

We had a wonderful dinner at Via Canaletto. The restaurant is small but a nice, cozy, intimate atmosphere. Our server, Lena, was amazing, so attentive, and gave us great recommendations. We had the caprese, stuffed veal special, pasta with marinara, and lobster ravioli. Everything was absolutely delicious! The cheese for the caprese is made in house and was the BEST we’ve ever tasted. Marinara sauce was perfect. The veal was unique and mouthwatering, cooked to perfection. Every single thing from the bread to the limoncello dessert was absolutely A+!! We will definitely back! One of our new favorites.

Salmon and spinach was excellent, Vongole e cozze was good - not memorable. But the ambiance was not good. It was too dark and way, way too noisy - mostly coming from the folks by at the bar in the dining room. And it got louder as the evening progressed. We could hardly converse at our table. I don’t think I will be back.

First time dining at Via Canaletto. We did the 5:30 seating ( for 4) It was quaint and quiet. The atmosphere, service and food were amazing. You will not leave hungry! I highly recommend. Will definitely be coming back.
