If I could, I would give it zero stars! I work for a congregate meals program that serves elderly clients to the general population. I can state unequivocally, that this is the worst catering company the program has ever had! We have been with this company for close to 4 weeks and the litany of complaints from our seniors is almost never ending. To begin, there are two employees from this catering company that have demonstrated GREAT arrogance! When notifying them that the amount of the food that is being brought to our meal site is insufficient to serve our seniors, they accuse us of not serving the "right" portion. When explaining to them that we have menus that must be followed and next to each meal there is an amount that must be given, they completely reject those numbers telling us that they don't go by ounces (which converts to pounds) but by volume. In one event, an employee said that he had been doing this for more than 20 years and thought that we were serving incorrectly and that we should serve how they want us to serve, not by our guidelines mandated by the Alliance. The arrogance from those two people, when telling them they are wrong is completely abhorrent!
The second big issue is the quality of food. I can vouch for over 200 of our seniors, co-workers aside, who can positively, unmistakably state, that the food is TERRIBLE! Aside from the fact that the portion was truly small, the taste is distasteful. So bad, that most of our seniors would glance over what is being served and not even try it. And those who did tasted the food, would throw it in the garbage. We overheard that they serve children at other locations. We can only estimate that if the quality of food for our senior was abhorrent, what about for those children?
And for those who think I am joking. Our seniors are very political. They had contacted a variety of news channels over what they felt was an undignified way they were being served. It had reached the ears of our Funder as well. Luckily, we have changed catering companies and never need them again!
This is just a bit of how terrible and arrogant this company is. If there is any organization in need of a catering company, especially for their seniors, don't stop and please pass this terrible company! And to those who refuse to heed my warning, to your own peril. Good luck! You'll need it.
Update as of 5/23/2017:
This will be a short response to what was written by the company. As you can see, the arrogance of this company is truly evident and they are not being honest. First off, there were over 100 complaints by seniors and workers by the quality and quantity of the food. If one voice is not enough, let there be over 100! Second, you wrote "cultural entitlement." You were serving a large Hispanic area. That sounds to me rather racist and belittling to every Latino. I can strongly assume, the owner, fails to understand cultural diversity on every level. And finally, if they truly adhered by Alliance's standards, why did the Alliance force the program to change catering companies where now the elderly are MUCH more content then before. Evidence of the chaos exists! Do not be fooled! This has nothing to do with subjectivity but with objectivity! Question: Would you consider it subjective, be completely dismissive, as the person who responded to my original response claims, if more than 100 elderly people, unilaterally, considered this catering companies food terrible? (Remember, there is evidence of it all) If your food quality is dismal, you can't spin it and say it is what it is. None of you people would adhere to it and neither should your customers, if they are receiving bad quality and erroneous quantity of food, from any company.
The catering company who is serving us now, made a very good statement to their chefs, "Cook this food as if you were cooking for your very own parents."
At the end, each person interested in this company as a caterer, you'll have to
