Food is awesome here. We ate on the cozy back patio. We had pupusas, steak torta, breakfast tacos, shrimp tostadas, agua frescas, churros and everything was so good. They were able to work around significant food allergies also. Awesome and affordable. Just go. We will be back!!!

A buddy took me here right before new Year's Eve for the first time for both of us and already this year been there twice. The atmosphere is perfect when you walk in the aromas, let you know the food will be good. I had the steak fajitas and have to say the best steak fajitas I've ever had in Florida. You guys did not disappoint thank you and glad to find this place. I am sure me and friends going to have many memories here when we get together! Keep it up love it.

Easy to find small restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. Chips and salsa were served before our food, it was addicting! Attentive service and our food came out quick! We ordered 1) horchata, which was in a huge glass mug that took me awhile to finish 2) Salvadoran Combo #2 app, with crispy chicken tacos, fried yuca, loroco and cheese pupusa 3) Mondongo (only Friday-Sunday available) 4) mole chicken enchiladas 5) Beef tongue tacos. I definitely ordered with my eyes but we enjoyed everything. No dishes had little or too much ingredients. Definitely recommend!

Delicious food at a very reasonable price! We always get the Steak Crispy Tacos and they never disappoint. They’re fresh and never greasy and come with a side of delicious salsa verde. Highly recommend El Guanaco if you’re in the area!

This is it! I have found my Mexican nirvana wrapped in tasty quac. I had the chimichanga stuffed with well seasoned chicken and just the right amount of heat. Server staff are super friendly. I kicked the meal off with a fruit based drink but noted you can also order and alcoholic one. All good. This place does have the feel of something you might actually find in a Mexican Village. As many of the better authentic restaurants are in off beat locations, do not let deter you.

**Vegetarian Friendly** Looking for a hole-in-the-wall mexican spot? THIS IS IT. We drove past this spot multiple times before finding it, so be on the lookout! It's a very small restaurant, but the service is so quick, that the tables turn over very quickly. As soon as you're seated, the complimentary chips and salsa make their way out. Delicious authentic spicy salsa. The Vegetarian Tostadas and Vegetarian Enchiladas were fantastic. Double thumbs up for having a separate vegetarian menu. Will definitely be back!

Our restaurant to stop at for lunch on our way to the Keys! Outstanding food and drinks! Wish this restaurant were in our neighborhood, we would be enjoying on the regular. In addition to a great menu, we love the tamales....best we've ever had! Stop in....El Guanaco does not disappoint!

This is a great place for some authentic Mexican food. The server staff are friendly and the place has a festive atmosphere. Guanaco offers fruit based beverages a favorite of the Latin community. This alone tells me the place is real. Chips were crunchy and had just the right level of salt. My chimi chicken was seasoned well without packing too much heat. This place is worth a visit located in an industrial area of Oakland Park.

The Salvadoran steak in red sauce was great. The red sauce, along with veggies blends well with the steak. The tortilla was also good too.

When this restaurant came up in Google searches again and again, my family and I decided to give it a try. The Mex food we ordered is basically their Salvadorian interpretation, with very little knowledge of Mexican recipes, not even Tex-Mex quality. The taco meat (beef, pork and chorizo) looked and tasted old, from previous days, very dark, and greasy (this happens when heated up too many times). The "refried" beans from a can will disagree with your digestive system, I promise. If you like to enjoy the food you eat, avoid this place, my entire party of four agreed with me. This is my honest review, I am not very picky, I just want to enjoy the food I eat.

We were visiting from Jacksonville and ordered takeout. The food was great. Friends told us later this is a favorite of theirs and that the chips are really good.

This restaurant is absolutely amazing. The staff is wonderful, the food is authentic. They stand by their food. I cannot rave enough about this place. You have to get their early or be prepared to wait. The wait is worth it....
