Waited for our dinner for 40 minutes before manager came to us saying sorry but our dinners were forgotten about. Waiter was very busy too busy to see we were sitting at our table with no food. Food was average at best. Fatty ribs and undercooked steak cubes. Was never asked how we wanted steak prepared. Asked for unsweetened ice tea and of course got sweet tea. Don’t think we will be going back.
Daniel was our server, and he was prompt. friendly, courteous, and went out of his way to assist us. He followed up when our food was served to ensure the order was correct and that it tasted good.
One my way home from Ocala. It was hot and I wanted a beer. Codys is good for that. I remember when it opened. I was hoping it would be as good as crystal rivers Codys but these are franchises and owners make choices. The building is nice and the bar menu is so so. Happy hours the same but prices are just a little higher. I also am not crazy about the bar menu. It isn’t a bad place and I think they rely on Top Of the World for their business. You would think they would do a better job catering to seniors. Seniors don’t work anymore and although they may have some money they are typically conservative in their spending. Figure out meals that seniors want at a great price. Make you money on volume would be my recommendation.
Great burgers
Got a Cuban sandwich, was expecting it to be awesome, it wasn't didn't finish my food.
It was good
The food and atmosphere was very pleasant and welcoming
when it first opened everything was new and exciting. the servers were so attentive. we went a number of times. food was good at first, then turned average. the newness wore off. burgers are terribly dry, less meat in sandwiches, wait staff not as happy and if you sit outside the music is too loud and they took away the high tables. now you can't see out the window which defeats the purpose of being outside. we won't go back.
So we had a party of 5. We ordered 2 prime rib- one rib eye. One hamburger one fried pork cutlet. Let’s start with the salad . Hardly any dressing. The rolls were hot and delicious. The two prime rib was tough , the rib eye was overdone , the chicken was dry. The hamburger was ok and the pork was slightly pink. We were all done and my daughter was still waiting on her steak. I asked for the manager . He did comp my friends prime rib and took my daughters steak off . The rest of us paid for our meal , but I will never go back there again.
Attentive servers and the food was great. Very busy on weekends, but worth the wait!

We have tried the Cody’s in Ocala 4 times. I must say not interested in going back. The service stinks, the last time, we sat at the booth no one came over . People sat down after us, waited on order put in. Still no one lots of servers walking around doing nothing but talking. I finally had to stop someone and ask , found out our table did not have a server. Still no excuse, not one server stopped and inquired just walked right by us. They need better training. Sad thing is I love Cody’s food. The place is beautiful, owner seems nice.
We waited awhile before trying this new restaurant. Worth the wait! We went on Wednesday and were able to take advantage of the fajita special, buy one get one. They were excellent. Chicken, beef or the combo is available. You won’t go away hungry. By the way, forget the peanuts in the shell. Really poor, some were soft and mushy, not what I expected from other site visits.
Went to the new Cody,s in Ocala last night with a party of seven friends. We were pleasantly surprised when we could get seated right away. They were not real busy. We quickly found out why. We arrived at 6:50 and it took a long time to get someone to take our drink order and even longer to receive our drinks after multiple requests. They never brought or offered drink refills. Several of us went to the bar and ordered and paid for our own refills! They finally took our food order about 7:30. We had to ask several times to get our salad and bread. We kept asking about our food. IT NEVER CAME! Finally after two hours, we left at 8:50 never having gotten our entrees.
I’m telling you, there is not a better plate than Cody’s most tender
Found this place to be an offbeat version of Roadhouse grill—if you remember the old peanut shell throwing type of environment. They made their own ranch and it’s alright for the salad. Entrees are great though. Many assortments and the kids menu is typical of course but it’s good. They can handle large parties which fit us.
