I wanna preface this review by saying I’ve been going to gyro grill for almost a decade now. The staff is always extremely friendly, but I can’t help but feel like the quality of the food has went down. Since I started eating there the price of food has almost doubled, while portions feel smaller. Food is hot but nothing really stand out to me anymore. The past few times I’ve ordered takeout the food has been mediocre. I’m paying 65$ for three meals. I don’t think I’ll return after this.

Being a hole in a wall, we were excited to stop on our way home from Jacksonville to Tampa. We were treated quite calmly, which is fine, it's his personality. The lamb was good in the gyro. The chicken, however, is a very different story. It was extremely dry like I put sand in my mouth. I'm sure it would be good as they get the concept of seasoning, just not the right timing. My opinion, cook the chicken for a shorter period of time. Second, season the chicken prior to cooking with simple salt & pepper. Let the sauce do the talking. Fries were rub, but not hard to mess up. The decor is a bit bleek, needing a woman's touch. May try again if we go that way.

My fav Greek place in Ocala. Lamb Gyro combo is very tasty so wholesome. I ask for "Toum" on the side which is garlic sauce for my fries....nice bite of tangy garlicky fries.. AMAZING!
So I have to update my review and I will like to know if this place changed ownership? Just yesterday Nov 12th, 2024 I had my daughter pick up our order: 1 chicken shawarma gyro, 2 lamb gyros, 1 Kafta combo and a large order of fries - the norm is any gyros from a horizontal meat spit - meats are normally cut thinly and meat is juicy (our meats were cut in big chunks. The Kafta and chicken lacked salt and chicken was very dried, my mom couldn't eat it and her chicken shawarma instead of having the sauce that goes with shawarma chicken it was covered with mayo). The fries changed from fresh wedge cut fries to Oraida crinkle cut fries covered with Lawry's seasoning when normally these fries are eaten with Toum (garlic sauce).
There is nothing more disappointing than to be hungry and not receiving what you pay for especially when you know Greek and MiddleEast food. This was a deal breaker for me.

A great little no fuss Mediterranean restaurant, with excellent food and fast service. Great gyros and fantastic falafels. We're from Dunnellon, but whenever we need to run to Ocala for something, we always try to grab lunch or dinner here.
Dietary restrictions: I am recently back on the Keto diet, and it's pretty easy to get a Greek salad with your choice of meat to accommodate.

I ordered the lamb platter. Plus, both pistachio baklava and walnut baklava. The pistachio baklava was eaten before I remember to take pictures. Everything was so delicious! We will definitely be ordering again from this place and you should definitely give it a try!

I love GYROS, I have had them in a few different countries, not just cities or states. This experience today was one of the best GYRO sandwiches I have ever had, it was simple and yummy, If you love Gyros go, The owner and I had a conversation, friendly good people. Its a win - win. Will definitely be back, many many times
