It was a treat for my 25th birthday and that was placed in the additional comments. The whole experience was phenomenal from the warm welcome to the gold table. With a complimentary birthday dessert with a candle giving me all the princess treatment I wanted. Made my whole birthday memento so much better. Xoxo
I originally booked for afternoon tea at 3 , on arrival was told to come back at 3 , we were early , when we came back I was told I hadn't booked afternoon tea but normal lunch . We ate food and service was outstanding , however when the bill came it was a bit of a shock , very expensive , drink is and food .
My partner was hospitalised on her birthday, so her party was cancelled and what was meant to be a new year break also doubled up as her birthday celebration! Two of the waitresses helped her to film a video with her cake, she was over the moon, the staff couldn't have been more enthusiastic! I'm sorry I didn't get their names, but it meant the world to her! So thank you ever so much
Fabulous evening with friends celebrating the new year. Food was amazing, staff were extremely friendly helpful and polite and service was very good
Had the brunch menu it was really good but they forgot to bring the starter before the main course which was disappointing
We had an absolutely incredible New Year's Eve at The Ivy in Edinburgh. Our server, Eilidh, went above and beyond and truly made the evening memorable. She couldn't do enough for our table of 7 and was always on hand for anything we needed. The food was exceptional, with the lobster linguine and the chocolate bomb being real highlights, and the wine selection was fabulous. A huge thank you to Eilidh and the entire team at The Ivy for such a fantastic night. We couldn't have asked for a better way to ring in the New Year!
Appreciate flexibility with timing of table and loved location of table. Enjoyed most of the New Year Flight ‘packaging' though could have done without awkward interactions with the ‘host' and ongoing push to buy champagne. Great food, lovely service otherwise.
Very very disappointing. Table not ready had to go and find a member of the team. Complimentary drink not served, had to go find a member of the team. Main course was terrible.. over cooked chicken. Not a very enjoyable New Years eve.. won't be returning in a hurry.
Son had the Lobster Souffle, VERY short on lobster I had the prawn cocktail, it was a mess. Little bits of lettuce mixed up with tiny bits of soft avocado. Overwhelming Marie Rose Sauce. Haggis balls had very hard coating. Mains: all had Fish & Chips which was ok Service was ok but instead of a welcome greeting, it was "DO YOU HAVE ANY ALLERGIES?" Could we not have a word first of welcome? When our starter plates were cleared, we asked to have a minute, the response was "I'll see what I can do" instead of YES
This was our fourth time back at the Ivy, per usual the food was wonderful, the drinks were delicious and the overall service was fantastic. We had a small hiccup at the start of our visit, I believe they were on a shift change so we had a few people juggling us before we got our specific serve. We normally sit upstairs but we were sat downstairs near the bar so it was quite loud and very crowded. We had people walking by and flinging unchecked coats for most of our people. Overall it was great but will definitely be requesting an upstairs or window table moving forward.

The server was polite and service was fair, regrettably the food was disappointing, the soufflé was good , we also ordered squid and zucchini fritte , unfortunately these two dishes were not pleasant , appeared to be cooked from frozen , both were large portions , a case of quantity over quality. Ordered a chicken dish with a red wine source , the beans were overcooked and discoloured, the chicken was overcooked and dry, again indications of prepared food which is reheated. The second main course ordered was the blackened cod, which was soggy, overcooked and unpalatable . The only positive was the pickled vegetable and the side order of green beans and peas. Service was fair, the wine ordered was lovely , food very disappointing, we opted not to order a dessert. Due to the poor experience we decided to cancel the booking for the New Years Eve dinner and looked to find a last minute alternative venue to celebrate New Years Eve, which we have arranged.
Vibe and ambiance were amazing. Decor is truly incredible. Food was subpar, lacked any real flavor and their cocktails tasted like they were from a can or used artificial ingredients. Not worth the price IMO. Wouldn't go back.
I had mixed feelings about my visit to Ivy Edinburgh. Unfortunately, the experience started off poorly due to the front desk service — the welcome felt cold and unhelpful, which set the wrong tone from the beginning. The food itself was fairly average and didn't really stand out for the price point. That said, the drinks were very nice and well made, and the atmosphere was lovely, with a stylish setting and good ambience. Overall, the venue has potential, but the service and food would need improvement to match the impressive surroundings.
This was a last minute reservation for us, but it was the BEST experience!! We needed somewhere for dinner at a very busy time, and we took a chance. Food was incredible, drinks were incredible, service was incredible, and atmosphere was incredible! I wish we lived in the area, so we could go back more.
The signature shepherds pie was a rather small portion for a man. Furthermore, It lacked a decent layer of potato on the top.
