Went to La Cuisine for a nicer French dinner and it felt like a real “special night out” place. The dining room is cozy and romantic, with that classic bistro vibe where you actually want to take your time. The food came out well-paced and tasted homemade, not rushed—rich sauces, warm bread, and the kind of comfort dishes you don’t find everywhere. Service was attentive and more formal than casual, which fits the setting. It’s on the pricier side, but if you’re going for a date night or celebration, it’s a solid pick.

Restaurant has it's own parking. Reservations at 530, arrived on time, seated and seemed busy. Atmosphere serene, the person next to us, uf, talked loudly. The onion soup is the pinnacle of onion soups. My friend had a salad and placed off to the side, to have soup, the salad was whisked quickly. Prosciutto wrapped scallops, presentation was beautiful and friend, stated was delicious. I order pan seared Swordfish, red potatoes, olive tapenade, lemon beurre blanc. I was surprised it was 3 goose egg size potatoes with swordfish on top (I imagined petite red potatoes). The potatoes were bland, took the olive tapenade that was on the fish and spread some on 1 potato, the fish was seared perfect, the tapenade enhanced its flavor. The server was Mike, worked hard and aimed to please.

Sean was our waiter and I liked him so much I wanted to take him home with me 🥰😂. The owner is adorable as well! We always eat here when we're in Ocala

Our second time coming and the food tasted just as good, we actually had the same waitress and she is very attentive, great person and friendly. We ordered the same as last time which was consistent in flavor and temperature. We ordered the French onion soup, the filet mignon medium rare with salad on some and truffle mash on others. We also ordered the lamb with couscous, and it was amazing according with my mother. We also had a red French wine which paired nicely with our steaks. Also our reservations were for 730 but we were in the area and hungry an hour early and we called were accommodated without issues very welcoming and friendly staff.

La Cuisine is always on our favorite list. From cocktails and wine to appetizers main course and you can't forget the incredible soufflés

The service was very good. The atmophere was pleasant. We were disappointed when we got our ribeye steaks. They were cooked well but the meat was one of the toughest pieces of meat I have ever had. Sadly, if we are paying top dollar for a steak, it shouldn't be this hard to chew. It was not the quality we expect from such a quality restaurant.

Went for brunch. Called last minute, and they were nice to accommodate us. The salmon eggs were good. The sweet chocolate crêpe had rich chocolate, but it was sour/bitter. I appreciate the richness of the chocolate, but it was not sweet by any stretch of the imagination—two bites in, it was unbearable to eat. The whipped cream always has a funky taste (always has, I’ve tasted that in France, their whipped cream is not French, it’s this formula they use that gives it a funky taste and ruins deserts, but we scrape it off when we get the chocolate mousse because we love that desert).

The most disappointing part was the service. We saw the waiter maybe three times. My 10 year old and I had to give our water to my teenager because no one even looked toward our table the entire 45 minutes we were there to ask how the food was or if we needed anything—like water. I wanted a second mocktail, but there was no one to place the order with. They were not very busy. There were many empty tables!

It will be a very long time before I go here again, if ever, which is a shame because Ocala already has a limited selection of restaurants. I’d rather drive to Tampa or Gainesville than have this experience again. (FYI, this is not the first time—before it was just a few mishaps here and there, which I expected because human error. Today, it was insulting at best.)

It was good, but we had a much better experience in the past. The food felt like nothing special for the price and the cocktails were strong, but not very flavorful. It just felt ok. The service and atmosphere was phenomenal as always, but I’m not sure we’ll return since the food and drinks were lackluster.

Kyle, our server was personable and professional and contributed to a very pleasant evening. Overall, the food was fine, but the halibut was under par at any price, let alone $42! That being said, the lemon beurre Blanc was fantastic, and the escargot was very good.

My sister and I were in Ocala visiting our mother after surgery and wanted to treat ourselves to a good dinner. We chose La Cuisine because of its high ratings, but our experience was extremely disappointing. We were seated promptly and ordered a bottle of wine, escargots, two halibut specials, and Parmesan truffle fries. The escargots were average at best, but the halibut was overcooked and dry, and the fries we ordered never arrived at all. What made the experience worse was the complete lack of accountability from our waitress, Jessie L. She never apologized, never acknowledged the missing side dish, and offered absolutely no explanation. For a restaurant that advertises itself as a “high-end” establishment, this level of service is unacceptable and frankly disrespectful to paying customers. There is no excuse for poorly cooked food, missing items, and staff who can’t be bothered to address their mistakes. Based on this visit, I would not recommend La Cuisine to anyone looking for quality dining or professional service.
