I’ve never had a bad experience at this place. There’s plenty of parking around the restaurant which is different for downtown always has great food and service. Live music is a plus as well. They have a large outdoor seating area as well as indoor
I was disappointed from the very beginning. I am an avid fan of this restaurant normally and I come here specifically for the street corn fries most of the time. I don’t know what happened with the commercializing of the company, but their menu has lost a lot of of its flare and potency as well as a lot of their seasoning. My fries came out unseasoned and not fresh out of the fryer as they usually are and the Philly cheesesteak I ordered was microwaved to hell and was practically just meat and cheese with no other accompaniments on the sandwich. Something I could’ve made at home for the same price and had much better. I’m very disappointed in the restaurants. “Update” it’s dark and unwelcoming and now they have high top seating, which is very uncomfortable. We just wanted some good tacos and hot food and it was very low quality and without love. I hope the owners and managers can see this message and actually improve upon their situation without taking it out on the employees. Good luck Say taco, I don’t see you profiting much in the future with this current business plan.
I miss what sayulitas used to be. The food is now trash. 🤮 we tried it twice since they got new owners hoping the second time would redeem itself. It did not.
First time in Ocala and after stopping at a previous disappointing restaurant I stumbled upon this amazing hidden gem and boy let me tell you from the food, to the hospitality, the vibe to the ambiance. Victoria greeted us with a welcoming smile and recommendations (by the way, definitely get the 2 tacos for $10 ) you won’t be disappointed! Allen I believe was the manager stopped by to make sure everything was good and continued showing the hospitality I feel this place exemplifies.
Margaritas were great!

Definitely not Sayulitas anymore and very disappointing. The place looked close when we arrived since it was pretty dark inside. We sat down and looked at the menu to realize they no longer had a drink menu and they were now selling wings, burgers and other sandwiches. I would be okay with additional food items being added to the menu if the actual food they're advertising being tacos were good. I ordered 3 tacos and each had their issues between the lettuce being old and brown, the pineapple being unrecognizable because it wasn't yellow or tasting spoiled, and the meat greasy. My husband didn't finish his food because the tacos tasted spoiled with the brown lettucue and his stomach was upset with one taco. I spit out my Al Pastor because the pineapple tasted spoiled and I told the server and didnt seem fazed. Honestly felt like a waste of money and time because the food is nothing like Sayulitas was. Would never recommend or return back.

First time here, sooo good! Delicious! The service was good, food was good, prices were good! Loved it!
This was my favorite restaurant in town. We went there once a week at least. They recently were bought out by another company that runs a bunch of restaurants and the completely changed the menu took out all the best things. They also completely ruined the aesthetic and vibe. The food is not good the service is bad because they hired a brand new staff that doesn’t know how to do anything. I’m so disappointed that this happened to such a great local eatery. Won’t be back.

We have been to this restaurant prior to the recent changes. When we walked in there was no one behind the bar, we sat down & waited 15 minutes for our drink order to be taken. The lime given with my drink was rotted. The food was more expensive & significantly worse quality. I won’t be going back, this was one of my favorite restaurants in Ocala and I am sad to see the quality diminish.

I don’t even know how to start this, I am beyond upset. My fiancee and I used to come here all the time up until now and order the walking tacos and the chips and queso. I have always looked forward to having the time to go get those. Not only have the walking tacos been removed from the menu but the queso didn’t taste the same. It has been turned from a cozy vibe to a sports bar…it’s a Mexican restaurant that has been “Americanized”. How does that make sense. The service was excellent, the workers have always been so kind but the food was bad and didn’t taste right at all. If it doesn’t make sense it doesn’t make dollars.

Before the switch of ownership, I was a regular here and pretty much ordered the Buffalo Bacon Chicken Burrito. Would be an easy 5 stars with that burrito alone, but they ended up removing it from their menu. Their food is still good, but a giant staple in why I came here is gone. Hope to see it return.

I hate to trash a place so harshly in our beautiful downtown district but I could not be less happy with this change in ownership.
My opinion: Horrifying that they changed our favorite authentic taco shop with character, great service and great food into what it is today. We came here multiple days a week for lunch and sourced food from here for our businesses events once a month but will not be coming here again. I'm devastated. The service was bad, the food was bad, and the atmosphere is cold. It's like a taco themed sports bar instead of an actually good Mexican place downtown (the cantina is basically the same thing).
The actual facts of my experience: I went in to order lunch for myself and my employees. It's overwhelming, there's no flow, and I don't really know where to go. I just stand at the door (because there's no host stand or sign saying to seat yourself) for probably about 2-3 minutes before I see a single employee. When I do see someone, she runs past me (there are only 3 tables with people at them in the restaurant) and I was able to catch her to say "where can I order some food?" And she says "anywhere!" then runs to the back. I figure it's easier to leave and call the restaurant because she's out of sight now. The phone rang forever (before the new ownership, it never went past 2-3 rings), the lady quickly took my order then hung up before I could ask how long til I can pick up, how much it was, etc. Fast forward to picking up, I sat and the bar and waited for well over 5 minutes and just watched employee run to and from the back never stopping to look at the bar/the customers much less great anyone. I asked for a shot of tequila (bc this whole experience was stressing me out) and just rang up the well tequila and never even asked what kind I wanted. When I ordered José Cuervo, she couldn't even find the bottle behind the bar. I tried to make friendly conversation to make light of the situation but she would just talk over me. When I finally got a chance to bring the food back to my business, I realized that I never got a receipt, the food was cold, there was barely any meat in the quesadillas even on the ones where we asked for extra meat, and it was incredibly salty.
Needless to say, unfortunately we won't be coming here again. I have ALWAYS openly bragged about Sayulita Taqueria to everyone I know but I will now try my best to steer people away from Say Taco.
