The Gathering Cafe Downtown Ocala

Bring all your taste buds to Gathering Cafe for a huge treat. On a recommendation we stopped in for lunch. Had the biscuits and gravy which was among the best I've ever had plus Croffers which is basically a couple of croissants made into waffles. Wife loved it. Huge mug of freshly brewed coffee to go with mine. Owner Sherri could not have been any nicer or more personable. Try in. Soon.

Gathering café is easily the best local coffee shop in Ocala. The top tier service, incredible ambiance, and exceptional food are the perfect combination. Ive come here easily a dozen times in the last few months; had the homemade biscuits and gravy today. So so good! Best ive had in Ocala BY FAR! Definitely come check this place out!

We enjoyed a delightful brunch. I was expecting a small coffee shop cafe initially, but was pleasantly surprised to find 2 story seating and full menu. We enjoyed the Biscuits and Gravy, breakfast burrito, latte and hot cocoa in mugs. Beautiful presentation, friendly service and warm vibes on a cool day. Look forward to stopping in again.

From the moment I walked through the doors, the atmosphere at The Gathering Café was absolutely beautiful and welcoming. There was a genuine spirit in the space that you could feel immediately—it set the tone for an incredible experience.

The staff was amazing: warm, attentive, and truly invested in making everyone feel valued. A special thank you to the general manager, Sherri, who was an absolute blessing to me and my group. Her kindness, professionalism, and heart for people made our visit unforgettable.

This is more than just a café—it’s a place of connection and encouragement. I will definitely be returning and highly recommend it to anyone looking for great service, a beautiful atmosphere, and an uplifting experience.

Best coffee spot in downtown Ocala!

I’ve always loved the atmosphere here — the upstairs is perfect for catching up with friends and colleagues. Never had a single issue… until my last visit.

I ordered a large Chai coffee and paid for it. When I mentioned to the girl at the counter that I didn’t receive the large, she made sure the whole café heard her response. Meanwhile, I’m over here speaking quietly like we’re negotiating international peace, just asking for the large drink I paid $13 for.

She insisted I had only paid for a medium and then added that she could charge me another $4 for the large. I’m sorry… $17 for a large Chai tea with cream and no extras? At that price, it should at least come with stock options.

I’ll still come back — the place is great — but I guarantee I’ll triple-check my drink size before leaving the counter next time.

Also, the muffin my friend ordered was so dry she couldn’t finish it. She didn’t want to say anything, so I’ll say it for her: that muffin had a birthday. Maybe two. Management might want to pop in occasionally and make sure baked goods aren’t aging out like fine wine.

To be fair, this is the first time anything like this has happened. We come here regularly and the staff is usually very pleasant. Maybe the barista was just having a bad day!

We stopped in at The Gathering Café while exploring Ocala, and we’re so glad we did! Everything from the friendly staff to the fresh, flavorful food was spot on. You can tell this place is run with love and care. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town!

My love for coffee often results in the exploration of local coffee shops and this not so hidden gem didn't disappoint! The team and atmosphere are warm and inviting. The cortado was perfectly balanced. The everything bagel with chicken sausage was incredible and the orange wedges to clean the palette awards was a delightful touch.

If I lived nearby I would undoubtably be a regular, but I'll be back the next time in Ocala!!

Omg the best cafe in Ocala!! Never met a sweeter staff team. Everyone was kind and patient when we had questions when ordering. Also the coziest vibe with plenty of tables set up to sit and study or invite someone on a date. The staff was even nice enough to move a table outside for us to enjoy the cool weather. Would definitely recommend it’s the cutest cafe! Thank you for the amazing service!
