The food was ok - except for some charred vegetables. Staff was unfriendly and didn’t smile once during the whole process of building my own bowl. They were low on some items and the girl just kept scraping the containers to make my bowl and I had to ask her to get a new container of vegetables. The sitting area was pretty dirty and full of food and napkins on the floor.

Surprisingly good food, bad ordering app, poorly organized staff and ordering system.
If you order on the website/qr code/website, it isn’t linked to inventory. So they were out of one of the proteins for a bowl, the chips, and the fruit punch. But we didn’t know until I inquired about our order (they give a pickup time 60 min after ordering) and they asked about substitute protein. I had to stand in line to figure out where the order was because it was late and no one was saying anything. The line was long maybe 15 people with one a person building bowls and taking orders, very slow not moving. The kids orders both were missing their sides and their drinks. It wasn’t until we sat down to eat we realized that and had to go back and figure out a substitute and it was too late to change the order (they said substitutions was the only thing they could do). Also, there’s a mandatory 10% tip billed even though you have to order yourself, stand in line and wait for food, figure out missing items, seat yourself, and bus your own table. Incidentally, our table leg was broken and we had to repair it ourselves by turning it to the side and screwing a bolt that had come out back in. That said, the bowls were good and it was nice not to have to leave the science center.

Bowl was great. Pizza, not so much. Some staff were very short as if your were bothering them, others were fantastic! Prices were great.

Update 2025: they took the beans off the menu which made the bowls amazing. Now the bowls are just ok. This visit, it was too salty! Sucks, because we came here to eat too.

It was Monday and they run out of 60% of manu but they still charged full price. I showed up 30 min after they opened and still did not have a lots of things prepared. So, they were out of a lots of menu items plus half of items were not prepared. After we received food hot dog was burned. Very bad experience

I believe you have to be in the science center to eat here but there is an entrance out into the park that may be ok to use. The food is well priced considering how much you get, the main issue is that some of the things have clearly been under heat lamps too long and didn’t have great flavor. Still probably worth a stop if you’re spending the day at the museum.

Parking: Parking garage for the science center.

We ate here twice while vacationing in the area. Some healthy options at reasonable prices. Tasted great and filled us up. In museum so noisy and floor was sticky but we would eat there again for sure. I had brown rice and pork or BBQ chicken with 4-bean mix and avocado topped with comeback sauce.

Dietary restrictions: Good for gluten free.

Parking: We went to Mennello Art Museum first which has free parking and then crossed the street to get lunch.

Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly with a couple of activities.

Decent food for cafeteria style. There was a guy Stanley working and he was nothing short of accommodating and was so nice to my son who just kept asking for things but Stanley had amazing guest service and it was really appreciated. I'd come back for him alone.

I had a tofu bowl & it was pretty good. Nice spicy kick.

$7 for a salad bowl is not expensive. People in this state love complaining!

Food is amazing !! Like a mix between chipotle and fresh kitchen and way cheaper. Why are there no more locations outside of OSC? Sad.

4 roots Cafe is a great way to share a healthy meal with your family at the Science Center. The best thing about this experience though is the service - specifically Stanley at checkout. Twice now he has helped my family and has gone above and beyond to be helpful and help create a great experience and a friendly atmosphere.

Kid-friendliness: There are games and a good kid menu. It is also attached to the Science Center.

I am so confused by the ratings on here!

This is my 2nd time in a week, and both times have been on point.

Our first visit we had the Italian sandwich. I loved the bread, and the makings.

Today my daughter and I each ordered a small bowl & it was tasty. She had a salad, baja chicken, parm cheese, tomatoes and ranch. She was full with the decent portion they give you. I had the pesto cilantro pasta which I could eat on its own. The broccoli was freshly made, with a perfect crisp to it. I enjoyed the baja chicken.

I have zero concerns regarding customer service. They are generous with the portions, quick even with the line that seemed intimidating I approached it and attentive to my ordering.

I look forward to trying additional items on the menu, soon.

Awful place. We got there 1 hour before they stopped serving food and everything was packed up already. No bowls, only a few salads and sandwiches. We waited 5 minutes until the girls behind the counter looked up and took our order. It was $20 for one salad and sandwich. We were then prompted to tip, after all that the girls did was take our food out of the fridge. The salad was overpriced and underwhelming with hardly any dressing or croutons. The sandwich had the smallest piece of lettuce and onion, and the bread was hard and stale. The place was dirty, with greasy trays and tables, and to complete the visit, screaming children running around while their parents scrolled on their phones.
