Backstage Billiards of Lake Buena Vista

No signage of being 21+, let us all come in and order a table and drinks (for the adults) but then quickly came and asked our 19 year old family member for ID. They promptly kicked us out, saying it was 21 and up only and making racist remarks at our Spanish speaking family members, eventually pushing mom on the ground outside. The bouncer was especially racist making nasty remarks. We found this place last week and enjoyed it with no issue, thinking it would be a new spot to go to. Sadly they will put themselves out of business with their disgusting business practices and horrible staff. 0/5 stars truly

After this business decided to respond with a snarky reply of my 3 star review, I've decided to update my review to one star. Businesses should take criticism in stride unless it's unwarranted and malicious.
It's obvious this establishment thinks it's immune to criticism and can respond accordingly. I'll be sure to inform my 35k social media followers to not make this a stop on their list when visiting the area.
The smoke filled atmosphere isn't for me, but the bartenders are fantastic. The wait staff are a bit slow to come around.

Joey Ryan was is the man! Dude came out while we were walking to our car….my girl totally forgot her I’d and he came running out to deliver. I mean EXCEPTIONAL service. Had it not been for him she would have been stranded here in Orlando🤦🏽‍♂️. GREAT STAFF and even better atmosphere!

If you have more than 2 brain cells to rub together you'll immediately see the appeal of this place. Cheap drinks, daily deals and free pool during happy 'hour'. If you can tolerate an albeit moderate smell of smoke (which has definitely reduced since our last trip 2 years ago) then this place is about as good of a deal as you can hope to find. The staff are all lovely and in 2 years the price of a pint has gone up about 15 cents. 10/10 would recommend.

Be careful with the bartenders they give bill to sign without items on it, so you may tip them twice. Tips already included in the check, IDK why. Service is ok. Another thing they charge for the pool table per person. It was 6 of us, so how 6 people may play the same table, I'm not sure.

Had a good time. (Edit) This 2nd time changing from a 4 star. Waitress was lying about giving me an extra beer that my Boi was already sipping. It was the last 1 from the bucket. I know because I told him to have it. So I ordered 1 beer and she took to long and shows up with no beer. She points at my friend's beer and says there's your beer. I confirm it with my friend that was his beer cause I told him to grab the last 1. Some of my friend was leaving and some are staying I was going to close tab. They charged me 55 bucks and 1 extra beer I never got. I argued with the chick behind the bar, she had a smirk and talking sarcastic about time frame that it'salways been that way. I know we never payed for tables as long as we are drinking. Ok so they remove the 1 beer I close tab and left. My friends that stayed told me they didn't charge him for the table." Lol they didn't make me pay". People here's my experielnce with them, they lie about your bill. Keep notes so yall don't get ripped off. B.s about tables free as long your drinking is b.s. they're liars. Bad business I'll go to brewlands they have better tables like 100x better tables.

Great pool hall! The staff is awesome and Whitney who works during the day is Amazing and always has a smile for you when you arrive. The night staff is just as amazing. Always a smile and hello from all. Thank you for making me feel at home! God bless you all! Sal

My name is Cameron Michael. I am a frequent visitor of Palm plaza: I am there every single week on Mondays to eat dinner at my favorite restaurant, Susuru and to play a video game tournament at Player One bar. During these days I often visit the bars Paddywaggon, Kitty O Shea's and of course backstage billiards. I have been to Backstage Billiards around two dozen times, mostly to share a drink with my girlfriend and play an hour of pool, or occasionally to play in the poker games held in the evenings. I have never before had a negative incident at Backstage Billiards. I visited Backstage Billiards at 4pm on Monday, July 21st where I ordered two margaritas and relaxed until my dinner reservation. The bartender was kind and I had no issue. I have NEVER had an issue at backstage billiards before In the many times I've been there.

On Thursday, July 25th at 8:15pm I entered backstage billiards to grab a drink and to sign up for the poker game taking place that night. There was nobody at the front to card me as there occasionally is. As I walked to the poker table, a man wearing a black jacket and hat was hurrying towards me. He appeared to be the designated bouncer, or front door employee. I assumed he was going to ask for my ID to ensure I was 21(I am 33). Instead, when he reached me, he said that I was dressed inappropriately and had to leave and change clothes in order to enter the establishment. The outfit I was wearing was the exact same outfit as I wore on Monday, and furthermore I have NEVER ONCE been told of any sort of dress code enforced at Backstage Billiards. He then verbally stated that he “wasn't trying to profile me” and led me to the door where he mentioned an additional rule stating “no pants below the waist” - a rule which I was not breaking. He then said “ could you imagine if a black guy was here for that?”

I was absolutely astounded by both my removal from the establishment and the disgustingly racist comment from the bouncer. What IN THE WORLD did I experience here, at a place where such a thing had never occurred before.
I don't believe this one employees actions and words represent Backstage Billiards as a whole, and hope that my experience will be read by management and the employee reviewed for his conduct on Thursday, July my 25th.

They allow smoking inside of the premises which is why I gave them 2 stars for atmosphere. Found a better location that don’t allow smoking.

HANDS DOWN…..Best pool hall in Orlando! Free pool before 9 when drinking and free all day and night on Wednesdays. And excellent service. Just wish they had NTN Buzztime trivia and poker. I’d never leave.

i love going to this place but when i went late night they stole my half full drink 10 minutes before closing and they stole my friends vape off of the table during their rounds of grabbing drinks before they closed completely. it’s not a bad place during the day but if you’re going late at night beware.
