Horrible, just can not recommend. Atmosphere was lovely and reviews looked good so our family went for lunch before a Kia center event. Waiter repeatedly wiped his nose then wiped his jeans as he would come to our table. We took utensils and napkin from other tables to not come in contact with him. We were a big party and had already ordered when we noticed this. He than came over to table to inform us he was sorry he forgot to put our food order in and that it would be delayed even more. When the food arrived it was extremely hot from a microwave. Food did not taste well and out of 9 people 6 had stomach issues.

Sooooooo cute, but not a good experience. The guy who was hosting was so nice and seemed like he was trying so hard to make everyone happy, but our waitress, although kind, was almost unfindable almost the whole time.
It took like 20 mins to get our drinks. After we ordered, we just wanted to leave because of how long it was taking but decided to hold on a little longer. We waited an hour and half to get our food.
She brought my husband's food out and said she'll be right back with mine and then took like 15 mins to bring mine. We would've rather both come out at the same time, instead of him waiting for mine to come out.

She kept disappearing by the kitchen and didn't come back to ask how things were. The food was very dry, and the rice had a bunch of crunchy bits everywhere.

Maybe they were super understaffed? Idk.
It kind of seemed like because we were only 2 people we were forgotten. Would've MUCH rather had dinner at the bao place next door. Don't let the cute, fun atmosphere deceive you. It was not worth it.

The Birria 1983 Mexican Bar and Grill downtown Orlando Church Street location was convenient for us to catch a bite of Mexican food after the Magic game. They were a bit busy but seemed to handle the crowd nicely. We were seated and served rather quickly. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable helping our German guests with the menu. Orlando has so much to offer and we will plan on visiting Birria 1983 when we return!

Waitress didn’t ever bring napkins to table. Queso was like soup, watered down. Didn’t bring additional chips for bowl of soup queso. LOL
One drink and modelo & soup queso $35 w tip

First time at the restaurant and I honestly have a horrid migraine so I ordered 3 tacos with carne asada to go. The people were super nice and service was quick. I simply went to my car to eat because, well, migraine. As I am enjoying my meal, I realize I have chicken, not carne asada. LOL. It's ok though, the chicken is super good and the corn tortillas are perfect. I will be back to try again for the carne asada in the future.

Terrible experience

very abusive that he charged. 20% mandatory tip plus the additional one that was given... the guacamole was ugly, the fajitas were very salty, the salad we ordered did not have the ingredients that the menu mentioned, I told the waiter and he brought me a frozen egg, the waiter never removed it the plates on the table, it left us all cramped. We were a table of 4 adults and the “large party” was charged and they also asked for an additional tip. Being tourists and having my baby crying we paid and when we realized the situation I was abused for how bad their food was and service. If it had been good, well, one says, well, it was worth it, but at the very least it was

I think the place is ok to grab a bottled beverage, and ONLY A BOTTLED BEVERAGE!!
The bartenders don’t know how to make a screwdriver drink but eventhouhh I didnt drink it and didn’t trust the bartenders to replace my drink they said they will not remove the drink from the bill since I didnt replace the bad drink.
I told them it’s still full!!
Seems kinda weird but I saw some others returning drinks and didn’t realized they weren’t good basic bartenders for mixed drinks. Had guacamole and fried plantains that was not that great as well.

I didn’t want to add a low review but when the bartender said they will not remove the drink because I didn’t replace it, it kinda got me pretty frustrated. So bottom line.
DO NOT GO FOR THE DRINKS and don’t expect meal to seem authentic.

In December 2024 I booked a reservation from this platform for this evening 2/15/25. In the reservation form it asks if you are celebrating anything special and I was happy to let them know my husband and I will be celebrating our 5 year anniversary dinner before a comedy show. The reservation was confirmed on December 27th 2024 and confirmed again the morning of. When we arrive the sweet girl at the hostess stand asks for our reservation. We give our name, reservation time, and party size. The manager soon arrives and tries to open an app on his phone to confirm. He cannot find it and asks for our confirmation which I happily show on my phone immediately. They are obviously caught off guard by our request. We are quickly sat at a high top table outside and given menus. Within 2 minutes of looking around you can tell everyone seated outside is agitated and upset. My husband and I were served chips and salsa and our drink orders were taken. As we eat the chips and salsa we notice others chatting with each other about their wait and lack of service. We watched atleast 5 tables get up and leave nothing but menus on the table. We soon followed. It was very disappointing to have an evening we planned for months so ruined in this way. We were really looking forward to the experience. Now, I’m not sure I would chance it again. Beware: If you are on any time schedule or like to make reservations ahead of time - this may not be the place for you.

They advertise Happy hour *4 to 7 pm*,however, they didn't want to honor the pricing " because of an event downtown " ( no where on the website does it say that. After speaking to the manager he said " they are working to correcting website "
He did give us happy hour on the drinks however not on the appetizers as advertised.
Music inside was extremely loud!

Excellent service from Victoria, she was wonderful in her knowledge and recommendation of the menu. The place is very nice, very pleasant atmosphere and very good food. It is very well located. I would definitely return.

Food was pretty good and tasty! Did a taco Tuesday special after reading reviews on their Birria tacos. Didn’t get any chips and salsa (as I saw other guest in reviews did) but not sure if that’s for dine in only. Great location, hope they get the word out more to fill up inside!

Beautiful decor throughout. Didn't get to try much food as we were just grabbing a quick lunch for the kids. They love black beans and rice but refused to eat these. I figured they were just being toddlers, but not wanting to waste food I gave them a try. They come better out of a can... Zero seasoning/flavor and the Mexican rice was bland and crunchy. Maybe it was an off day but for $30+/pp for lunch I am happy we just got drinks and skipped the disappointment. Service was mediocre, which being service industry I understand being disappointed when a table is just doing appetizers and drinks, but we would've ordered more drinks if our server had kept a better eye on us. The lack of lighting in the hall to the bathroom feels very dark and creepy, just something to note for owners. Overall I wouldn't recommend, or come back. Orlando has far too many great options to waste the money on anything average for this price point.
