Breakfast sandwiches were yummy with good bread. Unique decor :) Dulce de leche latte was good, on the sweeter side tho.

The food and pastry are good, but the wait is too long. I was waiting 40 minutes for a coffee. They need to hire more baristas or do something to improve the waiting time. I never come here for the same reason, is too much the wait time.

i’m not the kind to post negative reviews and usually when food is not the best I still find something enjoyable but the coffee is the only saving grace here. The chicken and waffles which is their “new” item, the chicken has this gummy gmo taste and texture to it and the waffles were definitely made two days ago and powdered with a bunch of fine sugar and it has no syrup at all. If you look at the video I posted we are trying to SAW into the waffles lol. I genuinely am not the kind to not finish my food but this was absolutely inedible. Place might be cooked.

It's much much better than the Columbian Cafe
Cafe coqui cooks their food per order. The egg sandwich was ok. it could have been better the egg was perfectly cooked it should have had more bacon. The drinks were delicious. I will return it was enjoyable

Avalon Park’s new best! Café Coquí is a standout addition to the neighborhood. The iced coffee is absolutely world-class—smooth, rich, and perfectly crafted. The atmosphere is spot on: warm, inviting, and beautifully designed. This is the kind of place that makes you want to linger, whether you’re catching up with friends or just enjoying a quiet moment. They’ve set the bar high, and it’s clear they’ve put a lot of heart into making this a local favorite.

I recently visited Café Coquí, and unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. While the location itself is nice, the customer service was a major letdown.
Upon entering, I was met with a cold silence from the employee at the front counter, who seemed uninterested in assisting customers. After waiting for a while, another employee came from the back and asked if we needed help. I placed my order for a coffee flight, but before I could even specify the flavors, the uninterested employee simply stated that they couldn’t make it. No explanation was offered; it was clear she just didn’t want to prepare it.
Sadly, this isn’t the first time I've had a negative experience at this café.
In a city full of great coffee spots, there are plenty of better options. I won’t be returning to Café Coquí, and I can’t recommend it to anyone. If you value good coffee and decent customer service, I suggest looking elsewhere.

Worst cafe experiences I have had. The food and coffee are great, but the service is terrible. Me and my coworkers have been going there for almost a year and I will likely not go again. It was bad enough how long it would take to get a simple latte, now we are lucky to get lids. They have been out of lids on multiple occassions...
We tried doing the flights together one day and waited over an hour. One of our coworkers tried getting one of these highly advertised flights during the small window of 1-3 PM and was denied. They refused to even attempt to provide an excuse. Edit: the owner states they now serve them all day. My coworker went at 2 PM and was refused for no reason.
On another occasion, a line of customers was left waiting b/c the barista decided to leave work to go take a picture of her child on her first day of school. As she was the only barista working, no one was able to order coffee until she decided to come back to work. Edit: owner states none of their baristas have ever had kids, so I guess it was just a fake excuse to leave work for a bit. :)

Ok! After a friend’s recommendation I decided to try this place as a brunch place for a long await get together with a dear friend! It was a complete let down! Not what I/We expected for a place carrying the Coqui name. a PR Heritage!! Walked in not what the website portray! All’s good… ordered our coffee and food. Sat and waited. Coffee came through before our meal and it was cold! We addressed it… we were informed they couldn’t take the cold coffee back but could add hot milk….couldn’t heat up in microwave because they didn’t have one!!! ???? Coffee good, we don’t want hot milk!! Either heat it up or redo….don’t just add hot milk😩… after serious discussion they remade the coffee… now the food came out cold!! We just left everything as is but will not recommend the place!! I expect hot coffee and hot food… period!! Not either or!!! The Coqui….. symbolism carries a huge weight! Don’t use it if you can’t live up to it!!! Coming from an Avalon Boricua with huge expectation if you use the Coqui name!! We took our business to Eastside Bistro… where customer service is A++++++++ and ended a brunch day!!
lovely place super clean friendly and very kind employees very attentive food was great and coffee is awesome, kathy, elizabeth, nayeli , rose and the cook johan are super friendly and very professional must try❤️

I received the best latte I've ever had in the United States at this cute little cafe in Avalon. The smoothest espresso mixed with steamed evaporated milk, topped with whipped cream if desired and a little cinnamon. I had it made without sugar and it was delicious. It's called the coqui latte.
