Calypso’s Pool Bar & Grille

The staff was amazing, very attentive and super helpful as well as giving suggestions on their favorites. Our appetizers were fine, not amazing, but not bad. The main entrees were very good, especially the Pinchos, Pinchos and the desserts were as well, especially the Orange creamsicle cake, to big for one person and I don't love orange, or cake, but it was very good.

My fiancé and I visited this restaurant twice, and overall we’ve had mixed experiences.

On both visits, the drinks were the highlight—especially the Long Island. They were delicious, well-made, and really hit the spot. The service has also been consistently wonderful. Both waitresses we had were extremely kind and attentive, which we truly appreciated.

During our first visit, we tried the tacos and the wings. The tacos were okay, and the wings were very delicious. That positive experience is what made us come back again.

On our second visit, we ordered the Pinchos Pinchos and the Cayman bowl. Unfortunately, the food didn’t meet our expectations. Both the chicken and the meat were noticeably dry. The vegetables were seasoned fine, but the black beans had way too much cumin, which became overwhelming as we continued eating. When the waitress checked on us, we said everything was okay because we wanted to give the food a fair chance, but the more we ate, the less we enjoyed it.

The restaurant kindly gave us a small discount, which we appreciated, but for the amount we paid, we wouldn’t order those dishes again.

We still love the drinks and the service, but the food on our second visit was disappointing. Still recommend giving this restaurant a try!

Absolutely loved our stay here! We booked through a 3rd party so my reservation got mixed up but the hotel fixed it w/ no problem and the transition was very smooth. No arguing, no nothing. Everyone was nice and very helpful. Definitely recommend staying here. This is my 2nd time and will come again. Very clean rooms too.

Food and service was impeccable! The chef is so talented and being from New Orleans, we are seriously about out food. The surf and turf trio was the BEST meal we've ever had in a restaurant. It's inside a hotel, but locally owned. You have to savor a meal this good. A wonderful hidden gem that I'm happy we stumbled upon while visiting Orlando. We will definitely be back!

I’ve been to Calypso’s a couple of times while staying at the Caribe Royale, and it’s always such a great experience! The service is friendly and fast, and the atmosphere by the pool makes it the perfect place to relax. The first time, I ordered the chicken quesadillas with french fries, guacamole, and a piña colada. Everything was delicious and super fresh. The second time I had their fish sandwich with chips, guacamole, and of course another piña colada. Both meals were amazing! Whether you’re grabbing lunch by the pool or just looking to unwind with a good drink, Calypso’s is definitely worth a visit.

Jonathan was the best server I’ve ever had! Jonathan made sure everything was perfect, he gave the best recommendations and was on point every step of the way. I’ve never had such a passionate and charismatic server. Wonderful time.

It's an open air restaurant and bar. Food was delicious. Staff was nice and friendly but disappeared a few times. Atmosphere very nice and worked well for it being outside.

The service was extremely slow... even to the fact that the restaurant was half full only... Service was terrible, slow, and the service brought partly the wrong food.
The waiter checked his notes and apologized for his mistakes. However, it took again a long time to get it fixed and changed...
Attention: A fixed tip of 18% is included, but it's really not deserved!

Had a daiquiri here which was expensive and tasted like it had a yogurt base. I had to ask the server twice for water, no apology. Bar shouldn’t close at 10pm especially when you have a packed house of patrons that would have given you even more food and drink business.

We ordered the barbacoa tacos, the Jerk chicken wings, and the red snapper sandwich. My wife loved the tacos and the wings were very tasty. The snapper sandwich was extremely delicious. Our server Sara was very friendly. They charge you a $12.95 service fee on top of the tip you give the waitress. Great atmosphere, right by the pool. A bit too noisy.

Everything looks nice, however the ceviche was hands down the worst I ever had. Lacked salt and acidity, had poor knife cuts on the fish and vegetables, for a place charging this much both the Venetian and Calypso were wildly disappointing culinarily.

Aisha and Tami were more worried about getting off their shift than taking care of guests. But why would bartenders put effort in when gratuity is already included? Would’ve loved to leave extra gratuity for Royce but then realized my check is rang under Aisha who failed to even acknowledge us after five minutes. Thanks to Royce for doing his best making our drinks while having to read the recipe book. Great personality and so engaging! Aisha was too busy having an attitude while Tami was stuffing her face with food right behind the bar..talk about major health code violation . Coming from someone who runs a restaurant, this behavior is absolutely unacceptable and I will NOT be back. Would expect more from a “top rated” hotel. Witnessed Aisha being extremely rude to a table asking for help while Tami told a coworker “he can wait a minute” instead of acknowledging the customer when there were NO other guests at the bar.

We had a fabulous few days and we will definitely be back! Amazing customer service- clean facilities- relaxing setting- all leads to a return trip very soon! This place truly makes you feel like you’re on vacation!
