wouldn’t waste my time . The place was hard to find — the GPS kept taking us in circles. When we finally arrived, the bar wasn’t even packed, but the host (who claimed to be the owner) rudely turned us away, saying it was “reservation only,” even though we had friends already seated at the bar. The attitude was unnecessary and unprofessional. Honestly, save yourself the trouble and go to Alifies or Guest House instead — much better service and atmosphere.

Necromancer just might be the best cocktail I've ever had.

I went in for a a couple of drinks with a friend to celebrate my birthday. Had a Mezcal Mule and I highly recommend it. The vibes are great here and the staff is great as well. Very attentive and got our drinks out in a timely fashion. I will totally be coming back to try the food and some more drinks for sure.

Poor customer service plus waiting for one drink for over 40 minutes. And the waitress got a really bad attitude when the table brought it up

Decided to meet my friend here and I showed up a few minutes after my friend did. We sat at the bar inches in front of the bartender where they do service well from and it took at least 10 minutes for the bartender to even acknowledge us or hand us menus after I sat down, so even longer for my friend. The bar/entire place was pretty empty so he wasn’t weeded or busy, just decided to ignore us and take his time I guess. Even after giving us menus, the service was extremely lackluster. I was really excited to go here after hearing such great things but unfortunately will not be returning after that not so warm welcome.

drinks were good and priced fairly ! food on the other hand..not that great . I order the pesto gnocchi which was extremely soft not very flavorful and had a heaping amount of onions? also got served less than 5 minutes after ordering which was a little concerning.. meanwhile drinks took at least 10 minutes per drink we ordered. my bf got the 6oz steak which we sent back . didn’t want to send mine back too because i hate to be that person but both dishes came out faster than the drinks and looked and tasted microwaved. disappointed with food . service was okay our waitress was nice but not as attentive as needed. would only come back for drinks

$14 for a cocktail that'll knock you out, super chill, quiet, and dim. perfect atmosphere. drinks are well-priced and the bartender's originals are amazing. could not reccommend this place enough.

This is a great spot for meeting up with friends if you want to hear each other talk. In other words, the music is not too loud. 😊 the cocktails are excellent and pressed metal ceiling is beautiful.

great atmosphere and friendly staff! we just had drinks + dessert and while the dessert was a bit stale tasting, the drinks were great. i’d come back for just that!

Great vibes. Amazing service! You can have nice strong drinks here. This is a place for you if you’re into absinthe.

We really loved our visit to DITA.
We sat at the bar and our bartender was friendly and gave us recommendations which was really helpful, especially when you have limited experience with absinthe!
We also ordered the Jamon puff pastries which were delicious [photo attached]
Highly recommend.

New to the area. Stopped by to check it out. Grwat service with a relaxed atmosphere; great for meeting with people and being able to chat.

The food has plenty of room for improvement and, unfortunately, nothing really stood out. The Cuban sliders were $12 for bread, mustard, and a very small piece of pork, definitely not worth the price. The empanadas (broccoli with Asiago) were also underwhelming. The artichoke was enjoyable, but the chips were stale.

I came in with high expectations but left disappointed. Personally, I wouldn’t return. There are too many other great places nearby to spend our money.

Death in the Afternoon is an amazing cocktail spot right in the heart of Mills Ave. One of many great places in the area, but this one really stands out. The cocktails are top-notch, the food is just as good, and the atmosphere is super chill. I love coming here right after work — it’s the perfect spot to unwind before a busy night. Everything about this place just hits right. Definitely a favorite.
