I wanted to give this place hope since they are on the cheaper end of local Chinese American spots. But I should have prepared myself for the meal I was about to receive... Prior reviews left me wondering if I was about to have a good experience or a not so pleasant one. I can honestly say that East Gourmet delivers mixed reviews, and that is spot on! The menu is limited compared to other Chinese American spots, but not too far out of the ordinary. The egg roll was OK, but left a bad aftertaste. (You'll see the common theme shortly...) the chicken wings were again, just OK, but also left a bad aftertaste and were lacking much flavor. The wonton soup was seriously lacking flavor (thank the heavens I keep msg on stash) and the actual wonton left a weird aftertaste...again! The beef lomein was lacking and the beef was also on the lower end of quality. Gray and flavorless and as you may have guessed it, left a bad aftertaste. The same can be said for the pork spareribs dinner combo (which was small and compared to a \\\"lunch sized\\\" serving from other locations). The rice was bland and the ribs were lacking that familiar \\\"sweet red sauce\\\" flavor we all know. I truly think the \\\"weird aftertaste\\\" is due to a lack of changing oils or the woks they use aren't cleaned consistently. The lack of flavor issues are consistent with most Chinese American spots here in Central Florida. The food didn't make me sick, so that is one plus, I guess. Ciao!

Hands down the best Chinese food spot in all of Orlando! ?? Update, don’t listen to all the angry people’s reviews! ? People are just so mad at the world these days and do what they can when angry to try to put down things that are great down. Didn’t work on me, I still went to this place and ate here multiple times and the food is great and so are the employees! ? Try it for yourself one day, like how I did. Same thing applies when people put down movies, just go watch the movie at the theaters yourself. ?

This place was disgusting. Place was clean but food was not. Food poisoning at it's finest. Drinks were great, especially the lemonade. Sugar doughnuts were good. Everything is is garbage. They seem like they were side eyeing us because we were black. Also, school food taste better than this junk. Don't get the orange chicken you are wasting your money.???????????????? ~emojis are how we felt during the experience

Been going here for years. 5-6 weeks ago, we noticed a change after picking up our food. First, they no longer use the 'old website' and are making a new one. All the staff appeared to be changed. Recipes -- different. The fried rice is awful now; its bloated. The chicken for General TSO's is different. Sauces seem different. All signs point to new ownership. No good.

I used to love this place and it was a go to for a long time but it has really gone downhill as of late. You can't order on their website anymore which wouldn't be as big of an issue except no one ever picks up the phone. They also frequently change the hours which, again, wouldn't be an issue except the staff don't seem to know the new hours even when they are posted on their door. They also keep getting rid of random menu items for seemingly no reason. Plus whenever they get rid of something they don't change their menu (physical or online) you're just left hoping that they will actually serve you what you ordered.

I ordered 4 lunch specials to go and everything came as expected except for the serving size which exceeded my expectations, highly recommend.
Wanted a change from New China. Nothing too special, it's takeout food. Portions are relatively small yet the price is a bit high for the amount you get. Flavors are alright at most. If you want better value, head over to New China where the lunch special is cheaper and there is more to eat.

I went to East Gourmet on 7/24/22.I have eaten here for years & never had an issue until now. There is a maggot/worm in the food on the broccoli. I was sickened!I went back to show the owner the picture I took & the food. I heard the owner say make another one, I refused. After that, they began speaking in Chinese to each other. I told them I didn’t want anything & I won’t be back.
