Stopped by for ice cream only! It reminds me of my childhood in NY as we would always go there. I brought my kiddo for a large sundae and it was delicious! Just as I remembered it! She had a brownie sundae and I had an old school Reese’s piece me sundae! The best! I wish I lived closer but will be back when we visit Orlando.

Was staying in the area and decided to drop in for lunch on a Sunday with my grandson around 3pm. Found people waiting and nearly half the tables empty. Was told it would be 20-30 minutes to be seated (then I can only imagine how long it would be to get food!). Was told there were only 2 servers and 1 cook on. Oh well. We left and went elsewhere. Sad for Friendlys. Won’t be back.

Whoever is running this restaurant needs to stop understaffing there employees. Please don’t even use the excuse that they are understaffed because people don’t want to work. It’s very obvious that the manager isn’t scheduling properly to save on budget.
They had 2 servers and 1 hostess who was doing the job of 4 people and bussing tables . And on a Sunday!!! I feel bad for there employees.
But wow, we were told it would be a 15-20 minute wait. Before we get seated, Completely ok. Not a problem. We waited probably 25 mins before we got seated.
As a former server I know they have “sections” But there were tons of open seats. so many people left because what they see are open tables and being put on a waitlist. Its a bad look!
On a weekend in the Kissimmee and disney area you should have a minimum of 4 servers and 2 cooks MINIMUM!
But Train your staff better as well, to manage their customers and take orders better and more efficiently, so it doesn’t look like they are being ignored or forgotten about. But then to be seated and then not even asked to take our drink order and was told, I’ll be right back to take your drink order 3 times. We waited almost another 20 mins before we just left. Because who knows how much longer we would have waited. With also 1 cook on the line.
Our server passed us multiple times and could have easily taken our order and drinks super quick while on the way back to the kitchen because it was obvious we were ready.
At that point it was frustrating. I was so exited to see a friendly’s because I have not been to one since I was a kids and yesterday was my birthday and I really wanted to enjoy it and get an ice cream. I also joined the rewards program for this visit. And did not get to redeem my rewards because we just couldn’t bare to wait and see how much longer it would have taken for us to get serviced.
Also having them so understaffed as a server relying on tips, this severely hinders them getting good tips because they can only do so much.
Do Better. This screams corporate greed.

This is a great, clean and “friendly” restaurant. Our breakfast was perfect, the bathrooms are very clean and the service was impeccable. Visit this Friendly’s if you are near the Parks in Orlando!

I was so excited to share this place with my son as this was a childhood fave. This was the worst service ever. I waited for 20 mins when there were very few customers in the entire restaurant. I had to ask to be seated and then was tucked in some dark corner of the restaurant. As nostalgic as this place is for me, I will not be back and that is unfortunate as efficiency (clean tables after customers leave)and smile could make this place great.

I love the nostalgic diner theme Friendly's has always been, the food is still good and the ice cream is always a satisfying treat! Our server didn't check on us much, but other than that it was good.

Friendly’s is a very nostalgic place to eat for us. I grew up going with my family in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Many have closed up there so we always come when we are in Orlando. Their new location is clean, our waitress was great, and the food is good…although I never veer from the bbq chicken super melt! :) We happened to be there when the owners/investors were having a meeting and they were all nice and excited to expand the brand again! Open one in Greenville, SC and you’d do very well!
